Hillendale Updates
Welcome, Mrs. Fahey!
We are thrilled to share that, pending board approval, Mrs. Katie Fahey has accepted our Hillendale School Librarian role! Mrs. Fahey is a veteran elementary school teacher who taught 3rd, 4th & 5th grade for 9.5 years in Philadelphia before taking time away from school to raise her two young children. Although this is her first role as a School Librarian, Mrs. Fahey is a terrific teacher and a perfect fit for our Hillendale family. Mrs. Fahey's first day and Mrs. Harvey's last day will be a crossover day together on Tuesday, September 3rd. Welcome to Hillendale, Mrs. Fahey!
Elementary Student Activities
As you may be aware, this year we are piloting a Student Activities program in our elementary schools. Throughout the year, programming will run in three, eight-week sessions starting on September 30, January 6 and March 31.
Registration for the Fall session will open on September 3 at 9:00 AM. You will need to access your child's PowerSchool account in order to register. Instructions and details about our program are located on our Elementary Student Activities webpage.
It's important to know that activities are limited and can only be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To keep our Elementary Student Activities Program as accessible for all as possible, we kindly ask that you please register for one Fall program per child. If there is not an opportunity for your child this fall, please check back in the winter and spring sessions.
As a District, we find tremendous value in the way that student activities build community, create connections, teach life lessons and help kids to discover their passions. We also feel strongly that student activities are supposed to be FUN.
