1:00pm -- New Student Tour for students and parents -- Meet at Door 1, the main entrance near the flagpole.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Hopefully, we will see all of our new Kindergarten students at On My Way To Kindergarten, August 21st at 5:00 at West Senior. At this time, homeroom information will be given. Some teachers will be on hand to meet our newest "cubs".

All teacher assignments will be available in the Parent Portal August 29th after 4:00pm along with bussing and food service information.

The West Seneca Central School District PowerSchool Parent Portal can be found at https://powerschool.wscschools.org/public/home.html. You must know your child's PowerSchool Access ID and Password to create an account. This information will be given to you at registration once your child is in our database as registered. If you cannot locate this information, please contact the Main Office at 677-3250. To create a new Parent Portal account, please follow the instructions on our Parent Portal Page.

If you ordered a school supply kit, it will be delivered to your child’s classroom for the first day of school. If you would like to drop off supplies in the Main Office prior to the start of school, please label the supplies with your child’s name and homeroom. We will make sure supplies are delivered. Please feel free to send supplies in a few trips to school. We know carrying boxes of tissues and everything else can be tough.

We will have some times available for you to drop off medications to our Health Office in late August. The Health Office will be open August 26th through August 29th and on September 4th from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Please use Door 19 (on the side of the building), call 677-3256, and one of our nurses will meet you. If you need to make special arrangements for drop off, please call the Health Office.

Physicals are required for Grades Kindergarten, 1, 3 and 5 this year. Physical forms can be sent in with the students or faxed to 677-3123.

On the first day of school, we kindly ask parents to say good-bye at the bus stop or inside the car if you are planning on dropping off. We have over 25 staff members available to help students find their classrooms. Saying goodbye can be tough, but we always do our best to make West Elementary warm and welcoming. (We also need to keep drop off moving along, and we need to limit visitors to the building during arrival.)

Save the Dates – Open House dates are as follows. These events are intended for teachers to share information with parents only. Parents of self-contained students do not need to attend as these orientations will be held prior to the start of the school.

-- Grades 1-3 – September 25th from 6:00 to 7:30

-- Grades 4-5 – September 26th from 6:00 to 7:30
