A weekly reflection and preview of all things WMS
WMS updates and reminders
- The OSU field trip for 7th graders resumes this week. We need families to fill out this form to share whether or not their child will need a school lunch for the trip. Students will attend the trip on dates according to their Science teachers.
November 12- Redfern class periods 1, 3, 5 and Walter Honors Science 8 students
November 13-Redfern class periods 6, 7, 8
- Mrs. Haye's theater students will be traveling up to the high school this Thursday to get an early viewing of the high school production of "You can't take it with you".
- With the holiday season arriving we recognize that not all students have the same opportunities to enjoy the holidays. If your family is in need of assistance please fill out this form.
- In an effort to gain a greater insight into the student perspective, WMS students will be asked to complete a survey concerning their perspectives on building culture. This survey will be shared during social studies classes and should only take a minute or two to complete. Our hope to to solicit student feedback to make adjustments that better serve our student population.
- Each month the WMS leadership team meets to reflect on data from the previous month. This data is used to chart needed course corrections in the building, and then shared out each month to students and staff during our staff and class meetings. The month of October saw an uptick in some behavior, but an overall improvement in academics as we closed out the first quarter. This information will be shared out with parents once month for transparency purposes.
Food truck wars
Winners of this year's Food truck wars were the "Wok n roll" group. Students were tasked with developing a truck prototype along with food samples. Groups were required to develop a business plan and had to incorporate an element of sustainability.
7th grade Humanities
Students in Miss Shuppe’s classes worked in collaboration with Mrs. Bowers to complete research and one pagers over the Greek god of their choice.
Miss Sultzbach's Humanities
Students completed a PBL focusing on creating their own themed Haunted House! After finishing their plans, they got to create one of the rooms in their house.
