PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Roadrunner Parents and Guardians,
I feel very fortunate to have the wonderful opportunity to serve you all as the Principal of Westwood Elementary School. I truly appreciate the warm welcome I received this week from parents and students and look forward to getting to know all of you as we work together to provide our students with the most amazing experience this year.
This week has been filled with exciting events as we welcomed our Roadrunners back to school. We kicked off on Tuesday with a delightful Welcome Back PTA Popsicle Party, where students and families gathered to reconnect and enjoy some refreshing treats. It was a wonderful way to start the year, and seeing everyone’s smiles as they walked onto campus highlighted the strong community spirit that makes our school so special.
Wednesday marked the first official day of school, and it was a fantastic start. Our Roadrunners had the opportunity to meet their new teachers, who were all eager to greet them with enthusiasm and warm welcomes. The front of the school was buzzing with excitement as students and families were greeted with a beautiful "Welcome Roadrunners" display that set a positive tone for the year ahead.
On Thursday, we held our Back to School Night (BTSN), which was met with an amazing turnout from parents. This event provided a great opportunity for parents to meet their children’s teachers and learn more about the year’s curriculum and goals. It was inspiring to see such strong engagement and commitment from our families as we discussed how we can work together to support our Roadrunners both academically and socially/emotionally throughout the year.
We are continually seeking feedback to enhance our events and make them more accessible. Whether you attended Back to School Night or were unable to join us, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to complete this brief BTSN survey about your experience and any suggestions you might have.
To cap off a fantastic week, we enjoyed our Friday Flag event, where students came together to celebrate the start of the school year. They sang a spirited song, participated in a fun game, and embraced the opportunity to build and strengthen our amazing school spirit. It was a joyous occasion that highlighted the vibrant community we have and set a positive tone for the year ahead. Thank you for being a part of this vibrant start to the school year. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and are grateful for your continued support and partnership.
With Gratitude,
Bill Egan
