This Week in Academics on Team Kendrick
Ms. Cunha: English
This week in ELA, students took their second summative assessment of Term 1. Students extended a scene from A Raisin in the Sun focusing on using effective dialogue to enhance the plot and reveal character traits. Students ended the week by reading and annotating Act 2 Scene 2 in A Raisin in the Sun.
On Monday and Tuesday of next week, students will use their annotations of Act 2 Scene 2 to create a recap poster in small groups. Students will share their posters / creative representations on Wednesday in class. On Thursday, students will prepare for a Socratic seminar on A Raisin in the Sun. Students will be given guiding questions to help them prepare. On Friday, we will have our Socratic Seminar fishbowl style, where students will be in 2 groups. While one group is having a discussion the other group will take notes and capture the discussion to give feedback, and vice versa.
