Santa?!? I KNOW HIM!!!! 🎅🍪
Thank you to all the grandparents and special friends that made it to our Cookies with Santa holiday program. The kids did such an amazing job with all their performances, we were so proud of them!
All about being a friend!
We have been really focusing on how to make friends, how to take turns and share, to care about one another, and what it means to be a good friend.
It is crazy to think about something as simple a saying hello to a new friend on the playground can land you a new best friend- but this is something we have been talking to the kids about all over school, In the classrooms, in library, on the morning announcements- we are always reminding them that they never know when they are going to meet their new best friend, so make sure to say hi to everyone and include everyone. They have been practicing with people in their classroom just saying "Hi. My name is_______. Would you like to play?" or "Hi! What's your name? Want to swing/slide/play a game?" They were really very apprehensive of doing this at first... even when practicing with their classmates. Some of our most outgoing classes of kiddos hesitated to reach out to someone new! This gave Ms. Fraze, our librarian, an idea- and she challenged every single class the last 2 weeks to say hello to someone new in their bus line, out at recess, at breakfast or lunch, and even in their classroom- and they have been running to report to her the new friendships made and even walk into school with their new friends hand in hand down the hall on their way to their classrooms. Making friends is so important and being a good friend is even more important- so don't forget to be discussing this at home too. Ask your child if they made a new friend this week!
Oh these silly elves! The things they have been up to this week.....
Mrs. VanMilligan's Class is traveling the world for Christmas!
This week they went to France and made Yule Logs and hit up Italy this week! The kids are LOVING learning about different holiday traditions around the world!
Thank you for supporting our Book Fair!
Thank you for making our Book Fair amazing and creating memories that will last a lifetime! Our winter Book Fair was a great success! Thank you to all that sent money in for your child to shop and to all of you that volunteered your time to help out! There were SO MANY HAPPY kiddos and my heart was full seeing all the excitement the kiddos had over their new books! I also loved how many shopped for little brothers and sisters who were at home. They were so excited to take that perfect book they picked out for them home! Thank you all for making the book fair a great success!
