Meet Mr. Mendez
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TEACHING?
I was born and raised in San Diego and I don't think I ever want to leave. I have been teaching since January 2000.
DO YOU HAVE ANY KIDS OR FUR BABIES?
I have 2 daughters named Pixie (22 years old) and Cricket (18 years old). They are pretty cool. I used to have 2 cats, Zoey and Jezebel, but my daughter moved out recently and took Jezebel so now I only have Zoey. I live with 7 cats in total though. They belong to my daughter that lives with me, my wife, and her children. The cat's names are Zoey, Venus, Tuna, Muchacho, Danzig, Elvira, and Calypso.
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAR?
I don't really like motorized vehicles, so I guess my dream car is the one I currently have once it is payed off. It is a 2020 Toyota Corolla and it is good on gas. I rarely use it though because I walk to almost everywhere I need to.
WHAT IS AT THE TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
To buy a condominium in Downtown San Diego with my wife and cat and never have to use my car again.
WOULD YOU RATHER COMPETE AND WIN AMERICAN IDOL OR AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR? WHY?
American Ninja for sure because I despise dancing or singing or doing anything talented, but I do like to be active so American Ninja sounds fun although I would probably lose because I am too old and would get tired fast and get real sweaty.
