Snapshot - Home Learning Edition
29.05.2020
Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We would like to continue to share the achievements of our students during this uncertain time. Each week we will include new ideas for student challenges to do at home, nominations of students who we are celebrating in each subject, and updates from the home learning team. If you have done a piece of work you are really proud of, or have completed one of our challenges and would like to share it in Snapshot next week, please email this to homelearning@corbytechnicalschool.org with the title of the email being 'Snapshot', including a short description of your work, and we will choose a selection to share.

Inspired by Captain Tom Moore on Saturday 9th May Miss Buffini completed 100 miles running around her garden in under 22 hours for NHS Charities Together. Initially she had planned to complete a marathon but felt that she wanted to challenge herself and raise as much as she could for the NHS, which was over £4000. Miss Buffini said "When you push your boundaries, get out of your comfort zone and believe in yourselves it is amazing what you can achieve.
I wanted to thank the NHS on a national level for everything they are doing at this moment in time. I am so proud of what I achieved and cannot thank my community enough for their support everyone who sponsored me and everyone who virtually ran with me".
Well done to Miss Buffini!

Home Learning Nomination
Students from Corby Technical School have been writing letters to the elderly over the holiday period. This initiative is part of BBC Radio Northampton’s Make a Difference campaign, together with The Autumn Centre. Students from all year groups have been writing about some of the activities that they have been doing during lockdown, as well as sharing their hobbies and interests. We are so proud of all the students who have taken the time to do this, and are sure that the recipients will be thrilled to receive a letter during this time when they are likely to be feeling more socially isolated. Thank you to all those who have taken part.
