Understanding Title 1 Schools
You might have heard the term "Title I" when talking about our school, and we want to make sure you understand what it means and how it benefits our students.
What is a Title I School?
A Title I school is one that receives special funding from the federal government. This funding is designed to help schools with a higher number of students from low-income families, based on free and reduced lunch. The goal is to ensure that all children have the resources and support they need to succeed academically, regardless of their background.
How Does Title I Help Our School?
At our school, Title I funding supports various programs and resources, including:
- Additional Staff: We can hire extra teachers and support staff to provide more individualized attention and smaller class sizes.
- Enhanced Learning Materials: We use the funds to purchase new books, technology, and other educational tools.
- Special Programs: We offer tutoring, after-school programs, and other initiatives to help students who need extra help.
Why is This Important?
Title I funding helps level the playing field, giving every student access to quality education and the support they need to achieve their best. It’s an important part of our commitment to providing an excellent learning environment for all our students.
If you have any questions about our Title I programs or how they benefit your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support every student’s success! We have include a slide show to give you a little more information.
School Lunch Accounts:
Account Reminders: We will send reminders when your child’s lunch account needs additional funds.
Timely Payments: Please try to clear any charges as soon as possible. It’s much easier to pay a smaller amount than to manage a large bill later.
End-of-Year Balance: Schools are required to cover overdue accounts at the end of the year. It would be wonderful if we could end the year with no outstanding balances.
Free and Reduced lunch forms: The form must be renewed annually. Requirements can change, so please complete the form—you never know if you qualify until you apply. Rest assured, when your child goes through the lunch line, no one knows if they receive free or reduced lunch, as all students simply enter their student ID. Link to the form.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping us keep lunch accounts in good standing!
