November 8th 2024 Principal's Message
Hello Blevins Families,
I hope you all are staying warm and dry today! I'd like to give my wholehearted thanks to you for the recent passing of PSD's mill levy measure. I know it is a big ask and no easy decision, however this mill has been a culmination of support that Blevins Middle School has felt from you, our incredible Bruin community, during tumultuous times in the past year. With the mill's dedicated funding to small neighborhood schools, we can continue to focus on what we do best: putting our students first.
Please check out this video to see more about what we do at Blevins.
And join us for our Open House on Tuesday, November 19th from 5:30-7pm. This night is to welcome our 5th grade families as well as showcase Project-Based Learning at Blevins. See you there!
Proudly,
Joe Zappa, Principal

When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. Our focus on the trip will be to connect our standards in social studies to the real world while still having a blast! This trip is the reason I teach social studies, and I would love to share that experience with your student.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
Brook Rajnowski

Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Poudre School District serves approximately 1,500 students experiencing homelessness. The number of PSD families and youth experiencing homelessness continues to increase and their needs have risen exponentially. Currently, one out of every twenty students is experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity in our district. Information and teaching resources on supporting students experiencing homelessness can be found at the National Network for Youth, and Learning for Justice sites. Local information about PSD can be found on the PSD website. You can make a difference just by being aware of the issue and spreading that awareness to your sphere of influence such as family, friends, colleagues. If you are interested in ways you can help minimize the impact of homelessness for our students, please consider donating directly to the PSD McKinney-Vento fund by clicking here. Funds go directly to removing educational barriers for students who are experiencing homelessness, so they have access to school and have the support to be successful. Additionally, if you are interested in your donation being able to support beyond educational barriers to support families with basic needs and even housing assistance, please consider donating to the PSD Foundation’s Compassion Fund using this link. Thank you, and we wish you all a happy Fall Season!
