Washing your hands is good for you and our school community!
With the cold and flu season in full swing, I can’t emphasize enough the critical role that handwashing plays in maintaining health. Hand washing is a simple practice that significantly reduces the risk of illness at school and at home. When individuals make hand washing a routine part of their day, they reduce the risk of becoming ill and spreading infections to others.
Proper handwashing is the first line of defense against the spread of illness. It not only protects the individual, but also contributes to the well-being of our school community. Washing hands well before eating, after using the bathroom, after blowing your nose, sneezing or coughing and when your hands look dirty helps keep you and our school community healthy.
Handwashing is a powerful tool everyone can use in maintaining a healthy and thriving school community.
Here are some tips for effective hand washing. Practice them at home and make it part of your healthy habits.

Social Emotional Learning at CFCI
For the next month or so, our learning community is diving into learning about Self-Management
Self-Management is the tool we use to set and achieve personal and educational goals.
After completing these lessons, students should be able to:
- Describe and celebrate something they have accomplished
- Distinguish between long-term and short-term goals
- Describe why learning is important in achieving personal goals
- Evaluate the action steps taken to accomplish a goal
- Identify resources that help them achieve their goals, i.e., home, school, and community support
