Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way! It will take place February 10-14, 2025 in the library. Classes will visit the book fair on their scheduled library day. It will be open to families after school Monday-Thursday from 2:15pm-3:00pm. We accept eWallet, cash, credit card, apple and google pay.
We encourage you to set up an eWallet—your child’s digital payment account for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.
Visit our book fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
We look forward to seeing you at the Fair!

Social Worker Spotlight
Have you ever asked yourself, "What is a school social worker?"
Did you know that social workers work in hospitals, universities, prisons, substance abuse treatment centers, military bases, elected offices - just to name a few. Some may fear that my "social worker" title means I investigate child abuse and make decisions about removing children from their homes - this role couldn't be further from my job description here at Bishop!
My school social work role at Bishop is entirely preventive and supportive. This may mean I provide direct therapy and crisis support to students, or I provide consultation for staff and parents. I also maintain connections with the resources in our community that help families meet basic needs for food, shelter, and general emotional well-being. I consider one of my most important roles to be a liaison between our students, their teachers, parents, and their community. Since 2016, I've had the pleasure of serving as the school social worker here at Bishop. Don't hesitate to reach out to me via phone - 408-522-8200, ext. 1205 - or email at diana.johnson@sesd.org.
