Chisholm Update
March 1, 2024

Happy Friday Charger Families!
Tomorrow is May 4, otherwise known as Star Wars Day, so May the 4th Be With You! It was great to get back to a normal schedule this week as we wrapped up the OSTP exams. We've been working through make up exams this week, but overall we saw a return to normalcy this week.
We want to congratulate our Media Director, Cat Lisle, who won the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon last Sunday with a time of 2:51 over the 26.2 mile race. In true Cat form, she was back at school teaching classes and working with students on Monday. There is a picture of her below as she crossed the finish line. Congratulations Cat!
It was also great to have Charge Up this morning as we had a 2-week break because of April Day and testing last week. With the calendar moving into May, we are also beginning to to see the the end of year activities with only a few more weeks to go until the 23rd of May.
Charger Palooza was moved to this coming Tuesday, May 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 on our big playground. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and at this time it does look more promising in regards to the outlook of having a beautiful evening. We hope you can join us for this school event as we wind down this school year. Live music from Spaghetti Eddie will help set the atmosphere and food trucks will be on site if you would like to purchase something. We will also have a shuttle system in place for you to park on the SE side of First Baptist Church, which should help with parking. This service will begin at 5:30 and run every 15 minutes until 7:45.
There is a button below that will take you to the Edukit site to order classroom supplies for the 2024-25 school year. If you order before June 15, you will receive the cheapest price and free delivery. Orders received between June 16 and July 1 will have an additional price. Supply kits ordered through Edukit will be delivered to the school before the start of the 2024-25 school year. There is also a button for 5th graders going to Cimarron to order their supplies.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and our PTO has some scheduled events and activities outlined below to acknowledge our wonderful staff for all their efforts working with our students throughout this year.
The 2024-25 Annual Update for returning students is now open. An email was sent out earlier this week and there is information below for you to fill out on your students for next school year. This step is vital in helping us prepare for the upcoming school year. If you aren't planning on returning for the 2024-25 school year, please contact the school 450-340-2950 and let us know.
We are starting to get some information on summer camp opportunities, which have been included in this newsletter and will be listed in future newsletters moving forward. Click the tab below that will take you to Edmond Memorial's camp offerings which begin towards the end of May and run in June. From there you will find specific information and how to sign up for camp offerings this summer.
If you know any graduating seniors that were also former Chisholm Chargers, we are welcoming them back to Chisholm on Friday, May 10th starting at 9:30 to celebrate their completion on high school. These seniors are encouraged to wear their cap and gown, they will get clapped out by our current Chisholm students as we walk the building. After the clap out we will gather in the cafeteria to take pictures and touch base with the graduates.
The Pre K & Kindergarten orientation night is scheduled for May 9. The Pre K meeting with be from 5:30 to 6:00 and the Kindergarten meeting will be from 6:00 to 6:30. Both orientations will take place in the cafeteria. This event with for Pre K and Kinder parents for the 2024-25 school and provides insight on Chisholm for new parents. Please try to find arrangement for children for this evening event.
Right after the May Lunch Menu is the listing for the last week out school outlines the manager's choice offerings for the last 4 school days of May 20 - 23.
Have a great weekend!

Please help us during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal by not turning right on red as you enter the parking lot from the west. This will provide those turning left from the east an opportunity to enter into the parking lot as cars move along.
Dismissal Reminder for Spring Hill/ Old Farm/ Thornbrook walkers should only be used by students that live in those areas. If your student doesn't live in those neighborhoods they need to either use bus or car rider to get home at the end of the day. We don't want to send students into a neighborhood that don't live in that neighborhood.
Calling all Substitutes - If you are interested in becoming a substitute, as a classroom teacher or classroom assistant, or even if you want to inquire more about the possibility of becoming a substitute in the future, please click on this link or you can call the school. The district has recently approved some additional incentives ( Subs now get paid twice a month and if you work 6 out of 10 days in a pay period, they can now earn an addition $100 in the pay period).
