RAPTOR REPORT
October 4, 2024
Happy Friday Raptors!
We kicked off this week with an exciting Spirit Assembly on Tuesday, and it was fantastic to see so many students participating in the activities throughout the week. The energy and involvement from everyone have been incredible. Tonight, we’re wrapping up Spirit Week with a school dance, which promises to be a great time!
On top of all the spirit week fun, our student-athletes had an impressive week as well. It was great to see our soccer, volleyball, and cross-country teams in action, showcasing their hard work and dedication. Go Riverside!

News and Notes
Spirit Week at RHS!
We had a fun week with lots of spirit!
October IB Students of the Month
Each month we will recognize students who are embodying one of the character traits from the IB learner profile (nominated by one of their teachers). The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB schools. These traits are as follows:
October's Trait: Caring
From the learner profile: “We show empathy, compassion and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us.”
Congratulations to our students who were nominated for the month of October!
Fall Student Panorama Survey
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the students in our district. As you may already be aware, building our social-emotional learning skills is an important goal for our school this year. Over the next several weeks, students and teachers will participate in several exercises to better understand these concepts and to reflect on how they perceive these skills in themselves.
We will be asking for our students to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning via an online survey they will be completed during Life Class on October 14. The survey shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on School Climate & Safety and Social Emotional Skills.
We are asking that all of our students participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.
If you have any questions about the SEL survey , please contact our counselor, Greg Bean.
