April 21-25, 2025
Dear Marysville Elementary Families,
I hope everyone had a restful weekend and enjoyed time with family and loved ones. Here are just a few updates for the week ahead:
- No School Monday, April 21
There will be no school as our teachers will be taking part in professional development today.
- Canned Food Drive
Our 6th grade Student Council members are hosting a Canned Food Drive this week to support our local food pantry. Please consider sending in donated items. The grade level that brings in the most donations will earn a special treat!
- Earth Day and Bus Driver Appreciation - Tuesday, April 22nd
Tuesday is Earth Day! Our 6th grade StuCo members will be helping around the school with some special projects.
It is also Bus Driver Appreciation Day- be sure to thank our amazing bus drivers for all they do!
- Third Grade Field Trip - Wednesday, April 23rd
Our 3rd grade classes will be traveling to Lincoln for their field trip to the zoo--we know they're excited for this adventure!
- Administrative Professionals' Day--Wednesday, April 23rd
We also celebrate our AMAZING secretaries at MES. We are so thankful for Rita and Julie, who help our office run smoothly every single day!
- 3rd - 6th grade Track Practice Begins
Students in grades 3-6 will start track practice this week as they prepare for the upcoming Track Meet on Wednesday, May 7th.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement at home. Let's make it a wonderful week full of learning, kindness, and school readiness!

6th Grade Music Concert
The 6th grade students had their final elementary music performance last week. They all did a wonderful job and what a lasting memory for all of them. Thank you 6th graders, Mrs. Olmsted, and 6th grade parents! š

Your student likely brought home this flyer. Please consider donating to a great initiative! We are always looking for ways to enhance our school.
If you donate in person at the school before May 2nd your student will be given a fun reward.
Parent HANDBOOK Policy
FOOD & DRINKS
Students may bring labeled water bottles, but they must contain only waterāotherwise, a clear bottle will be required. Classroom teachers will share snack guidelines, but all snacks must be healthy (no chips, candy, or sugary treats). Gum is not allowed unless approved by staff. Breakfast is served daily starting at 7:30 AM, and students have a 25-minute lunch period. School provides balanced meals daily (except early release days), or students may bring simple, nutritious lunches from homeāno food sharing or carbonated drinks. Meals and milk are charged to your childās food service account; low balance notices will be sent home and by email. Free and reduced-price meals are available for those who qualifyāapplications are available at the school office or online at https://schoolmealsapp.ksde.org/Home/welcome/D0364. Meal prices: $3.10 for lunch (Kā6) and $1.95 for breakfast.

SALAD options are coming back in APRIL!!!! We love providing our students options when it comes to healthy and nutritious foods. We always offer salad, fruits, and veggies daily, but the salad option will be returning!
