Doc Talk
Greetings, Phoenix! We are closing out the second week of the hexter, and it has been an awesome experience! This year is going to be exciting with many new initiatives, changes, and opportunities!
We have received a new designation as a Title 1 school. Next week, we will be sending home a Title 1 Parent Compact that will require signatures. We will need every student's family to return this compact.
As part of Discovery's initiative for family involvement and engagement and Title 1 status, we would like to host a family and community engagement night every hexter. Our first family night event will be on Thursday, September 12th form 5:30pm-7:30pm. If you and your family would like to attend, you must RSVP by September 6th to be on the list. This event is mandatory for all seniors, as we will be going over graduation and related topics. You will have received an invitation in the mail if you are required to attend. Please RSVP by Friday, September 6th to secure your spot!

Yearbook Corner
Foundations Activity
Mrs. Staggs and her Foundations class routinely does team building activities. Included in one of these team building activities is the Infamous Wall. Students find this to be challenging because they have to leave their comfort zone and communicate with people they may not yet know. It encourages students to interact with other students using problem solving skills. Foundations is a course designed to build skills and relationships needed to succeed at Discovery.
