The Boys and Girls Club will be closed on Tuesday for the election! They're still open on Monday and will resume with their programming on Thursday.
If you have students in 4th-6th grades, please take a moment to answer our sports interest survey, found here.
Thank you to our families that already responded to this short survey! You will be contacted first about any switches that can be made. If you haven't yet taken the survey, please do so as soon as possible. The information gathered will inform our next steps in considering the learning environment for all of our scholars.

October Character Trait- Student of the Month
Our October character trait was Digital Citizenship! Congratulations to all of our Students of the Month for October! Thank you for being a role model to your peers and remembering to SOAR!
India is my choice for Student of the Month (although there was some competition!). She has been logged into Blackboard every day, she's always on time, and she's an active digital learner. She completes all the digital activities and assignments daily and submits her work immediately back to GHA. India, along with her grown up, utilizes all of the tools in Blackboard and asks very good questions. Congratulations, India!
Ms. Merlo: My Student of the Month is Jaiden Vela. He's shown excellent online citizenship. He shows up on time every day, pays attention, asks questions, raises his hand, uses manipulatives properly, and always says goodbye to me at the end of the day. He is an amazing student and demonstrates online citizenship.
Ms. Prawdzik: Aaron Rushing is my Student of the Month. Aaron is an excellent role model for students online. He is always on task and ready to learn. He demonstrates appropriate behavior during class and always works hard to do his best.
Mrs. Cook: The Student of the Month for Mrs. Cook's second grade classroom is Kennedi Crayton. Kennedi demonstrates appropriate digital citizenship skills like raising her hand, keeping her passwords private, and helping others with technology issues, if needed. She is a good example of a GHA digital citizen.
Mr. Teer: From day one, Jaxon Edwards has proven to me that he has what it takes to be a digital citizenship leader. Jaxon signs into Blackboard before class starts, greets all students with a good morning, and participates with great enthusiasm. Jaxon always treats his teachers and peers with the utmost respect and is very complementative. I am honored to award Jaxon Edwards our Student of the Month award.
Ms. Paynter: For October, I am picking Semaj Hudson as my Student of the Month. He has been doing a great job online and in-person. He has learned how to navigate around Blackboard and gets his assignments in on time. He has even helped some other students when they need it when we are working online. He is a pleasure to have in my class!
Mr. Chapman: This school year, Taylor Cardwell has been an extremely positive role model to her peers when showing responsibility in using all of our virtual resources. She is eager to learn and utilizes the online tools when needed. I am so proud of her work ethic and her passion for positive learning.
Ms. Crane: Ta'Sharie Gistover has been chosen for Student of the Month for October. She is always one of the first students to log into Blackboard in the morning. Ta'Sharie participates in class and is very eager to learn. I love having Ta'Sharie in my class!
Ms. Thomas: My Student of the Month for October is Jontavious Chandler. Jontavious is always kind and allows expectations for good digital citizenship. He is a bright spot to our learning environment!
Congratulations and THANK YOU to all of our Students of the Month for being exceptional role models!
