As you all know, our students have been engaging in our new math curriculum, Bridges in Mathematics this year. We are ecstatic at the progress our students have made this year and are pleased to announce that Red Hawk has the highest level of students making progress in the area of math when compared to the entire district when comparing elementary schools! We are incredibly proud!

What are my options if my student has a health condition and misses regularly?

TVUSD offers alternative educational options for students with special circumstances that have been verified by a physician

What is Chronic Absenteeism and why is it important?

Students are considered chronically absent when they miss 10 percent or more of school for any reason. Left unaddressed, chronic absence can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by Grade 3, reaching grade-level standards in middle school, and graduating from high school.

California Education Code (EC) Section 60901(c)(1) defines it as “a pupil who is absent on 10 percent or more of the school days in the school year when the total number of days a pupil is absent is divided by the total number of days the pupil is enrolled and school was actually taught in the regular day schools of the district, exclusive of Saturdays and Sundays.”
