Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) for Dec. 9-13, 2024
Advent Season is Here!!
Last Monday we celebrated the First week of Advent and gathered as a school community to start the preparation for the Advent journey. We will be gathering weekly through Advent at center court aroundthe school Advent display. On December 8, we will celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of Jesus. In doing so, we honour Mary as one uniquely favoured by God, who from the first moment of her life was especially blessed by God. Mary did nothing to deserve such an honour; but when the time came she embraced the mission it entailed with her Yes to God.
Lord God, you chose Mary to be
the mother of your eternal Word,
Jesus. May her example help us
to be open to you and to answer
your call with generosity.
Amen
Blessings for a wonderful week,
Mrs. Kleparchuk, Principal
Mrs. Crowston, Vice Principal

Division Assurance Survey 2024
Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools values your opinion. As part of our Assurance process, we ask that you share your perspective through our Division Assurance Survey at the link or QR below. Results from this survey will be used to inform planning and make decisions at both the school and divisional level for the 2025/2026 school year.
All parents and staff, as well as students in grades 4-9, will be given the opportunity to complete the survey. Surveys are completely anonymous.
Families with children at more than one GSACRD school are asked to complete a survey for each site.
The survey will remain open to Friday, December 20, 2024.
Please note: If you have a child in grade 4, 7, or 10, you may receive a similar survey from Alberta Education at a later date. If so, we would encourage you to complete both surveys.
We thank you in advance for sharing your feedback; your time is appreciated.
Principal Positive Call of the Week
Christmas Affirmations
Affirmations are positive statements that we can say to ourselves to help contradict the negative thoughts we may have. As joyous as the Christmas season is, it can also be stressful - activities happening at unusual times, obligations to events, the pressure of gifting, managing different family dynamics, and so much more! When we experience a lot of stress, it is easy for our minds to create negative statements, thoughts, and feelings - which is not necessarily what we want to be feeling around this festive holiday season. These stressors and negative thoughts are not what Christmas is all about. By practicing affirmations this Christmas season, we can focus on Christmas's true meaning and those we hold near and dear to our hearts.
Every day leading up to Christmas, we are sharing an affirmation with your child about the holiday season that you can use at home:
Monday: Like elves who work with cheerful care, I know my efforts take me there.
Tuesday: Every family celebrates in their own way; my traditions are special, and that’s okay.
Wednesday: I bring light like the tree so bright; my kindness glows both day and night!
Thursday: The best gifts don’t come from a store; they come from the heart and mean even more!
Friday: Inside of me are gifts galore, I’m full of magic and so much more!
