🏫 A Note from your Administration 🏫
Hello, Husmann Parents & Guardians!
Everything about our 4th Annual Husmann Hustle last Friday was simply amazing! From the very first conversation with our new HPTO Board in July about their hopes and goals for the event, to the frequent collections and tallying of donations, to the actual day outside on the course and near the dunk tank, it was a day that we all will cherish and remember! We feel so fortunate and appreciative that so many members of our Husmann community were able to come together to make this such an incredible event!
A most special 'THANK YOU' goes out to our volunteers for spending the day at school, and making sure that our Cougars were able to safely navigate the course.
Another huge 'THANK YOU' goes out to the many family members, relatives and friends of Husmann that made donations to what was our main fundraising event for this year! Eclipsing the $41,000 mark is beyond impressive.
Stay tuned for more communication on exactly how the money raised helps to fund the budget of the HPTO and to contribute to the many wonderful things HPTO does for our students, staff and school!
Your Partners in Education,
Mr. Sromek, Principal & Ms. Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal
🎃 Halloween 2024 🎃
Costume Guidelines:
Students should bring their costume to school. They will change into costumes at 2:40 p.m. Costumes should be non-violent. Please refrain from blood and weapons such as toy knives, axes, guns, and swords.
Parade:
If the weather permits, we will hold an outdoor parade that will start at 2:50 p.m. Students will parade on the perimeter of the building. If inclement weather is present, a decision to cancel the parade will be made by 1:30pm.
Following the parade, students will return to their classrooms and be released at 3:30. In order to guarantee the safe dismissal of all of our students, we will not be releasing any students between 2:45-3:30.
If you will be attending the parade and taking your child home after, please send a note to your student's teacher stating where you will meet them.
Classroom Parties:
Parents that choose to dress in costume may do so without hiding their identity.
Doors will open 15 minutes before each party for parents that are coming to help. Each grade level is scheduling parties to fit in their schedule.
If you are planning on helping out at the party please confirm with your child’s teacher. We are collecting names ahead of time so that we can have name tags made up. This will speed up the check in process on the day of the party. Please check in with one of our staff members stationed at the front entrance prior to entering the building. All volunteers MUST go through the district Volunteer Process before the day of the party. Please complete your application at least a prior to the date.
Opting-Out:
- Should you choose not to have your student participate in the parties, please reach out to your student's teacher.
- Should you choose not to have your student participate in the parade, please pick up your child at 2:30.
🗽 Veteran's Day Slideshow 🗽
Our Husmann Family will again be celebrating Military Veterans who are near and dear to our hearts. If you have a veteran in your family you'd like to celebrate with us, please send an image (and include their branch if not clearly visible) to Becky Vedder at rvedder@d47.org by October 31st. We still have the images from last year so if you sent one then, no need to send another unless you'd like to.

🚨 Emergency Contacts in ParentVUE 🚨
Please check your child's account and ensure that the Emergency Contact Info is current and correct. Things to look at:
- The order of who is called first
- Make sure phone number is current
If any changes need to be made, please call the main office at 815-356-3400.
🚌 Dismissal Changes 🚌
In order to safely coordinate the dismissal of all of our students, we ask that you inform the main office of any and all changes for your child. We will work with the teachers to make sure that all students go to the proper location. However, in order to manage this in the best way possible, we will NOT be accepting ANY dismissal changes after 3pm. We appreciate your partnership in keeping all of our kiddos accounted for.
