As a family, talk about the importance of showing up every day.
Help students maintain routines and get a good night’s sleep.
Schedule appointments (like doctors and dentists) outside the workday.
Use our school calendar when planning family trips and vacations during winter, spring, and summer break.
If the student is sick, ensure they contact teachers for resources and materials.

Career & Technical Education
This month, we celebrated our students’ accomplishments in Career and Technical Education (CTE). CTE provides students with valuable hands-on experience, preparing them for success in various career fields. From healthcare and engineering to agriculture and education, CTE equips students with skills that will serve them well in the workforce or in higher education. At HRVHS we offer six Pathways and these include:
- Engineering
- Agricultural Science and Technology (Power, Structural, and Technical Systems; Animal Science and Plant Science)
- Integrated Media
- Health Sciences
- Education / Early Childhood and Human Services
- Business
We’re proud of our students' hard work and dedication to their CTE programs and their teacher’s. These programs not only help them discover their passions but also give them a head start in building careers. Thank you for your ongoing support as we empower our students through CTE! Last year, students who completed 2 or more credits in one pathway had a 100% graduation rate!
CTE Spotlight-Amy Foley, Hood River Valley High School Biology/CTE Computer Science Teacher!
Congratulations to Amy Foley and our school for earning the AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for the 2023-24 school year! This recognition from College Board highlights the incredible work happening to expand young women’s access to AP Computer Science Principles and close the gender gap in STEM.
Mrs. Foley's dedication opens doors for students, empowering more young women to pursue high-paying, in-demand careers in computer science and beyond. Thank you, Amy, for inspiring the next generation of problem solvers!
