ART TO REMEMBER
Dear Parents & Guardians,
We have been working really hard on special art projects at school, and we can’t wait to show them to you!
Our school has teamed up with Art to Remember, and they can transfer our artwork onto keepsake products like mugs, keychains, and necklaces. First, we’ll bring home an order form with our artwork printed on the cover, and then you can order from over 50 products! Orders will be due by November 8th. The keepsakes make great gifts for family and friends. Plus, every purchase helps raise money for our school!
Love,
The Kiddos at EES

FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION DAYS
BASD has the ability to utilize 5 flexible instruction days each year in the event that inclement weather or another emergency should create a need to cancel school at some point during the school year. Students will be provided with directions early next week on how to access their assignments should an FID day need to be used during the school year. Please note that there are no snow days built into the district calendar this year.
PARENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES
As a reminder, car riders are dropped off and picked up at the back of the building. During these times, adults should not be getting out of their cars. There are staff members available if your child needs assistance getting in and/or out of the car. We appreciate your help in keeping Earl students safe.
Free/Reduced Meal Program Grace Period Set to Expire
Was your child eligible for free or reduced-price meals during the 2023-2024 school year? The Federal Government provides a 30-day grace period at the beginning of every school year for participating families to submit their required annual renewal application. The grace period ends on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Families that have not completed their application for 2024-2025 will be charged for lunches beginning on Wednesday, October 9th. If you’re still in need of this program and have not submitted your annual application, please visit www.schoolcafe.com as soon as possible.
Full details regarding the program, including Federal Income Guidelines and the 2024-2025 Homebound Letter, are included in the Food Services Information Packet for 2024-2025. https://secure.smore.com/n/ztpme
LUNCH SNACKS GRADES 3-5
We will be offering doubles and snacks to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students after Labor Day. A double lunch costs $2.75 and that includes only the entrée. Students must have money in their account in order to purchase a double, even if they are free or reduced. The snacks listed below may not be available every day.
Snack prices are as follows
Cookie $ 1.00
Popcorn/chips $.85
Ice cream $1.00
Sm. Water $ .75
Capri sun $.85
Please note, that you can send a note/email to the cafeteria if you decide your child is not allowed to buy snacks. A note can be added to their account to prevent them from purchasing. You can also send a note if you decide they can only have 1 a week etc. But you must state what day they are allowed. For example, “Johnny can only purchase a snack on Friday” or “Johnny can purchase a snack on Tuesday and Thursday, etc. We can not answer a student if they ask whether or not they got a snack this week 😊
If you have any questions, please email or call me.
Thank You,
Marianne Merritt

TITLE I NEWSLETTERS
Please see the links below!!
Title I Information
Boyertown, Colebrookdale, Earl, and Washington are the identified Title I elementary schools in our district. Middle School West is also identified as a Title I school. These schools receive Title I funding based on the percentage of low-income eligible students.
Title I is a federally funded program purposed with ensuring all children have a fair and equal opportunity to learn and grow. Boyertown has transitioned to a Schoolwide Title I program. A Schoolwide program is designed to serve all students in a Title I building and improve all structures to help support student learning. Our Schoolwide plan was developed with the help of parents, community members, teachers, and administrators. Our plan is evaluated annually to determine the impact that these supports have on student achievement.
As a Schoolwide Title I building, the staff is reviewing all students' data to determine needs. Students are identified for intervention if in need of academic support, primarily in the area of reading. All students receiving additional support must qualify through our district assessments.
Support is provided to the students individually or in small groups both in class and as a pullout program. Schools set a goal for academic progress that will be measured through mid-year and end-of-the-year assessments. The Reading Specialists, Intervention teachers, paraprofessionals, and classroom teachers partner together to support all Title I students.
Our district works diligently to use the Title I funds as required and to provide these additional services to enhance the educational program of our Title I students. If you have any questions about the Title I program, please reach out to your building's reading specialist or call the Title I office at (610) 369-7414.
