Greetings Cavazos Parents,

Our staff is thrilled to welcome you and your children to Cavazos for the 2024-2025 School year.

Meet the Teacher is Tomorrow, Thursday, August 8, from 4PM to 6PM.

Here's what you need to know:

Before Meet the Teacher:

Download the Class DoJo App. and connect to our school by clicking on this link: R.E. Cavazos DoJo

Your child is welcome to bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher, or bring them on the first day of school.

Upon Arrival

Students will be listed alphabetically by grade level on the inside of the cafeteria windows and on the right hand side as you enter the building through the front doors.

If you do not see your child's name, their registration has not been completed, so you'll have to come in to the office.

The office will be open from 7:00AM-12:00 PM and 4:00PM-6:00PM. We will close at noon to be ready for Meet the Teacher and ensure all enrolled students are placed in classes.
Any room numbers with in the 100s are located downstairs, and room numbers in the 200s are upstairs.

Once you are in the classroom

Your students teacher will greet you at their classroom.
Be prepared to complete the transportation form, Student Code of Conduct Acknowledgment Card, request your child's teacher on Class Dojo, and other teacher created documents.
You will receive general school information as well as information about the attendance and tardy policy.

We are excited to get our DoJo on!

As a reminder, all students must be opted in and be eligible to ride the school bus. You can find your child's bus number and the Edulog Code on the Home Access Center. The Edulog Code will also be sent to eligible riders via email.

If your child rides the bus, we ask that you download the Edulog Lite app.

The app provides you with notification of bus delays, changes, and you can track the bus within the app!

Parent Requests

As you know, as campus principal I offer the opportunity for parents to make parent requests. The deadline for Parent Requests was May 1st this school year. While I make every effort to honor these requests, please know that my primary goal and responsibility is to ensure a balanced and effective learning environment for all students. ; therefore, I cannot always accommodate parent requests. This year, various staff moves and other constraints made this task much more challenging. I understand that not having a requested teacher may be disappointing, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our hiring team works diligently to recruit the best teachers for our campus and I am confident that we have the best teachers serving and guiding your child toward success; Therefore, I must emphasise that current class placements are finalized and will not be changed.
