The High AIMS Update October 2023
Your Monthly Source for Educational Excellence
Dear High AIMS Community,
As the leaves change and autumn begins to settle in, we're thrilled to bring you the first edition of the High AIMS Update. This month's newsletter has exciting updates, valuable insights, and important events to share. Let's dive right in!
Lencioni's 6 Geniuses: Unleash Your Team's Potential
We kick off this month's newsletter with a focus on teamwork and leadership. Patrick Lencioni's "6 Geniuses" framework provides invaluable insights into enhancing collaboration within your school community. Explore how these geniuses can transform your teams and lead to better outcomes for students and staff.
1. Curiosity: The Spark of Innovation
Innovation begins with curiosity. It's the driving force behind every great idea. Embrace your inner explorer this month and ask questions that challenge the status quo. Whether you're a student, teacher, or administrator, curiosity can unlock new possibilities.
2. Empathy: Building Stronger Connections
Empathy is the cornerstone of strong relationships. Walk in someone else's shoes to understand their perspective better. It's a superpower that can transform the way you communicate and collaborate with others.
3. Resilience: Navigating Life's Challenges
Resilience isn't just about bouncing back; it's about bouncing forward. Life throws curveballs, but your ability to adapt and persevere defines your success. Use setbacks as stepping stones to greater achievements.
4. Creativity: Unleash Your Imagination
Creativity is the key to solving complex problems. Whether you're designing a new curriculum, planning a project, or just brainstorming ideas, let your imagination run wild. Creativity is where innovation takes root.
5. Adaptability: Embrace Change with Open Arms
Change is the only constant. Being adaptable means being open to new ideas and approaches. High AIMS is a dynamic community, and adaptability is your compass in this ever-evolving educational landscape.
6. Critical Thinking: Sharpening Your Decision-Making Skills
Critical thinking is your toolkit for making informed choices. Analyze, evaluate, and solve problems with precision. Encourage critical thinking in your students, and watch them flourish.
A Warm Welcome to Our Cohort Facilitators
High AIMS is delighted to extend a warm welcome to all our cohort facilitators. Your dedication to our mission of educational excellence is truly commendable. We look forward to your continued leadership and your positive impact on our educators and students.
High AIMS Leadership Cohorts will begin meeting in October. The Cohorts are an opportunity for educators to come together to strengthen and support each other, i.e., principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches, and school counselors, by learning from each other’s experiences, sharing and gaining knowledge about best practices, collaborating, and hearing others’ authentic approaches to solving challenging situations, and deepening learning of practical strategies that sustain school improvement. Since cohorts are designed for you to receive professional learning and to engage in collaborative discussions on best practices, each cohort group needs a volunteer to lead or facilitate the cohort. Some cohorts have established leaders, while others still need a lead person. At the first cohort meeting, we will discuss a framework to support the group to help you learn, innovate, collaborate, and grow. Here is a link to the upcoming cohort meeting dates, times, and locations. The spreadsheet was also emailed to you on Tuesday, October 10.
