Student Drop Off - Pick Up Concerns
Student Drop-Off / Pick-Up continues to be a Safety Concern.
The picture above is our Bus Loading / Unloading Zone.
Cars are not permitted to drop students off in the bus lane unless it is after 8:35 a.m. AND there are no buses pulled over in the lane. Students must also be picked up at the end of the day in the Car Rider line.
All students should be dropped off / picked up in the Car Rider area in the back of the building. Staff members are in the Car Rider line from 8:20-8:35.
We at Davey Elementary have created a safe area for your students to get out of the car and go immediately in the building. Thank you in advance for following our school procedures.
Additional Information:
- Students should not arrive to the building until 8:20 a.m. Students are not supervised until that time. If your student walks to school, please have them arrive after 8:20.
- Only Preschool Students and Students with Special Needs are permitted to use the main parking lot for arrival/dismissal.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the main office.

At Home Supports
Most children thrive when they have routines and structure. Schools set specific routines for students to follow during the day. Schools often post these schedules in classrooms or give them to students at the beginning of the school year or term. When schools are not in session, students may have fewer predictable routines, which can increase their anxiety and challenging behaviors. To cut down on behavior problems, families and caregivers can mimic school routines with their children and set up times for learning, exercise, and play. It’s helpful if these routines are similar to what students are already familiar with from school. The home schedule needs to be posted in a visible central place for all to see. The more consistent the routines and schedule can be, the easier it will be to support prosocial behavior and prevent challenging behavior in the home.
