Principal's Message
We recently sent out first semester grades. For those students with an Incomplete grade, an Incomplete Plan was also sent out with information regarding what needs to be done to earn credit. If you have questions about the Incomplete Plans or questions/concerns about school, please reach out to your student's counselor.
Students were asked to develop a script for their student conference. If you were not able to participate in conferences last week please take a moment to ask your student:
how they did on their academic and personal goals for first semester and why do they feel they were or were not successful?
what are their academic and personal goals for this semester?
what their plan is to earn credit on any classes they have a F or Incomplete grade in?
9th-11th graders - what classes are they thinking about taking next year?
seniors - did they finish all of their senior presentation slides that were due last Friday?
Conferences also provided an opportunity for households to fill out a survey to help the Meridian School District in its strategic planning. If you filled it out during conferences or after receiving the email request last week, thank you. If not, please scroll in the newsletter to see how you can provide information for the district's strategic planning process.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Go Trojans!

SKYWARD FAMILY ACCESS EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS
EES Family Survey
For us to continue to improve as a school district and as a school, it is important for us to hear from families about the job we are doing in providing a quality education for all our children. We are seeking information through an 8–10-minute survey that is available now through Feb. 18th
EES-Family, Active Link Survey
To access the survey, visit: EES Family Survey Link: Meridian SD
o Choose your language preference on the opening page of the survey.
o Select your child’s school. If you have children in multiple schools, complete one survey per child.
o Complete the survey and click submit.
We value your input as we strive to continue to improve. Thank you for your feedback.
Vaccine Clinic, February 25th at Meridian High School
Health Commons Project is providing Meridian families an opportunity to sign up for free COVID-19 vaccines for children 5 years of age and older. The vaccine clinic will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4 at Meridian High School, 194 W. Laurel Road. Appointments are required.
The clinic is offering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, both initial doses and boosters are available. No insurance is required.
For children under the age of 18, a parent must be present and consent is required. The vaccine will not be administered without parent consent submitted prior to the appointment.
Families must register for an appointment online as space is limited. If all appointments are filled, families can request to be put on a waiting list.
For more information about the COVID-19 vaccine, visit the CDC website or Washington State Department of Health website.
COVID-19 Student Survey
Students will be able to participate in the COVID-19 Student Survey in their Homeroom classes on Monday, February 14th. The COVID-19 Student Survey was created by OSPI and UW to help capture the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of students during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, students have had to adjust to new ways of learning, socializing, and living. The purpose of this survey is to help teachers, school leaders and parents understand how they can better help meet the needs of their students. The survey is anonymous, voluntary and will be administered to students in grades 6 to 12. Families can review a copy of the survey ahead of time and students may opt-out of taking the survey. Families can also review this Information for Parents and Students with frequently asked questions.
Have more questions about the survey? Feel free to contact contact@wacovidstudentsurvey.org.
If you wish to have your child not participate on the 14th please email Katie Miller at kmiller@meridian.wednet.edu. Students who do not participate in the survey will be given an alternative activity during that time.

Valentine's Day, February 14th
Love is in the air on Valentine’s Day on February 14. Even though we believe that love should be spread and celebrated every day, we don’t always remember to do that. So on this dedicated day, go above and beyond in expressing your love for family, friends, and of course, your significant other.
Request Transcripts Through Parchment
Please find the “Order transcripts through Parchment” link under Families & Students/Resources on the MHS website. Current students may call Mrs. Brinkman or Mrs. Waterman to receive their Parchment access code at the MHS office 360-398-8111.
Attendance Information
Being present in class is vital to be successful in school. We want to encourage all of our students to be at school every day! If you are missing school, you are missing out on learning!
