The Fowler Weekly
November 18-22, 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good Day All,
The beginning of the new quarter is a great time to remind students and families about the importance of attendance. Research shows a significant decrease in academic performance and a sense of belonging for students who attend less than 90% of the time. Please help get your student to school on time as much as possible. If you are having issues, please contact their school counselor or the main office. You can monitor attendance on ParentVue. Be present, be powerful!
One additional request, we are struggling with students coming to school with iPads that are not charged. If you could get in a routine with your student to charge their iPad overnight so they are ready for the school day it would help their teachers immensely. We simply do not have enough chargers or outlets in classes to meet the current need.
Thank you for all your continued support.

HAPPENINGS

Dress Like a 50 year old!!! November 18th is the 50th day of school on our 50th anniversary. In honor of that, we are going to celebrate by dressing like a 50 year old. Staff are looking forward to seeing what our students think a 50 year old dresses like.

Inclement Weather: In the event of an emergency, the district will communicate with parents using one or more of the following methods:
FlashAlert – Free subscription service that alerts subscribers via email, cell phone, or mobile app
District-generated email, text, or calls through ParentSquare – the email or phone numbers you provided at your student's enrollment are the contacts we will use to notify you of inclement weather and urgent notifications.
District and school web pages: Inclement weather and urgent notifications will be posted as an alert on all pages,
Social Media – You can find Tigard-Tualatin School District on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook:
In order to receive communication from the District, be sure to give your most updated phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contact information to the school office staff to be updated in our student information system.
COMMUNICATION
Starting with our first communication in January, The Fowler Weekly, will be delivered via ParentSquare. It will look a little different at that point because ParentSquare has the ability to translate our communication in over 100 languages. It will automatically send it in the language that you have registered with us as the language you prefer for communication. Another advantage for you is that YOU can determine when you would like to receive communication; at the time it’s sent, or in a “digest” at a specified time each day. In addition, as a district and as a school, we will be using Parent Square exclusively in order to relieve the constant inundation in your email accounts. Finally, this is all so much easier if you have the ParentSquare App.
Get started here.
Step by Step Instructions for setting up your account. (There are QR codes on these instructions that can be used to access the app)

In addition to ParentSquare, StudentSquare is now available for students to activate an account through the StudentSquare application on their student iPad or Chromebook.
Activating a StudentSquare account is not required to receive school and District messaging via email. Still, account activation will provide additional tools for students to “direct message” with teachers and access surveys, forms, and documents sent through StudentSquare.
To activate your StudentSquare account:
