Students can earn high school elective credits and college credits for knowing how to speak, listen, read, and write in another language.

Testing Information
ACT Exam is on April 8 for all 11th-graders
Next Tuesday, April 8, 11th-grade students will take the ACT. The ACT is a standardized exam that assesses students in English, math, reading, science, and writing. ACT scores are used for post-secondary admissions, course placement and to qualify for scholarships.
Testing will take place during the school day, replacing regular classes. Testing takes place online and includes a built-in calculator. District 622 does not charge 11th-graders taking the ACT on the April 8th testing day. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided as usual.
Help students prepare for the test in the following ways:
Make sure students bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school on test day.
Encourage students to be well-rested on test day.
Remind students to eat breakfast.
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs)
Throughout April, our students have a chance to show what District 622 students know and can do! Across the state, students take required MCA assessments each Spring to provide information about how districts and schools are teaching the Minnesota State Academic Standards in math, reading, and science. District 622 uses information from MCA assessments to improve curriculum materials and student support.
The following students will take MCAs online during the school day. Details will be sent by your student’s school.
MCA Reading: All students in grades 3-8 and 10
MCA Math: All students in grades 3-8 and 11
MCA Science: All students in grades 5, 8, and high school students enrolled in Biology
How can I help students prepare for testing?
The best preparation for MCA tests is the learning students do in their classes. Helping students engage with their learning throughout the school year will help them learn the skills they need for MCA testing.
Practicing stress-reducing strategies, getting a good night’s sleep, and having a healthy meal before testing can also help each student do their best.

Once he meets Molly, his lonely and miserable world is turned upside down.
On the other ship, The Wasp, Molly’s father, the famous starcatcher Lord Aster, guards a decoy trunk from pirates who are in search of treasure.

Community Resources
Measles and the MMR vaccine
Minnesota has identified cases of measles in children who recently returned to the U.S. after traveling internationally. The decline in measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine coverage, coupled with the increase in measles disease nationally and internationally, puts Minnesota at risk of additional measles cases and a measles outbreak.
MDH has information about measles and the MMR vaccine: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/measles/measlesfacts.html
If your child has any symptoms, please contact your medical provider and school nurse.

Ramsey County is offering vaccinations clinics. More information can be found on the Ramsey County website.
