AR WALL- REACHING GOALS
A NOTE FROM MRS. B
Howdy Bronco Family! I know I have written about reading before, but I cannot stress the importance of building reading skills enough. Reading is the foundation of success in all academic areas. Our dedicated teachers and staff are working tirelessly to help our students grow as readers.
Here are three things you can do at home to support your child’s reading development:
1. READ TOGETHER: Regularly read with your child using age-appropriate books. Spend quality time reading aloud and encourage them to read to you. Discuss the story’s characters and ask questions to make it an enjoyable experience.
2. CREATE A READING ROUTINE: Establish a daily reading routine, promoting consistency and a love for reading. Choose a specific time each day for reading, such as after school or before bed.
3. ENCOURAGE WRITING: Writing complements reading. Please encourage your child to keep a journal, write stories, or pen letters to family members, their teacher, or even me. This not only improves reading but also boosts writing skills and creativity.
Together, we can help our students achieve their full reading potential. Thank you being so supportive in this crucial journey.
Remember, you can always find the latest Meadow ISD news on the MISD website and Facebook page, so go check them out! Also, check your kiddo’s backpack and folders for any important paper notes that may have gone home.
Don’t forget to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about what is going on in the classroom. We are always here to help.
It’s ALWAYS great to be a Bronco!

MRS. BAYER - 4TH GRADE
The 4th Graders had a great trip to the Kids, Kows, and More event. They learned about different aspects of agriculture that impact our lives, and they got to learn from farmers, ranchers, and electricians in Terry County. If your child hasn't already told you about it, ask them about what happens when a Mylar balloon touches an electrical line. We had a good time, we are very thankful to have the opportunity to attend, and we appreciate the organizers and exhibitors for all of their hard work.
We are celebrating that ALL 4th graders have reached at least 5 AR points, and our entire class is represented on the wall in the hallway. Tomorrow we will have the 1st nine weeks awards assembly, and almost all of the 4th graders will be in the AR parade. I am so proud of their hard work.
As we start the 2nd nine weeks of school, I hope you will continue to encourage your child to reach their reading goals.
MS. GAMEZ -5TH GRADE
4TH& 5th Grade Math
-In 4th grade math, we are slowly going to long division. The fourth graders have been awesome in wanting to learn multi-digit multiplication - up to a 2-digit by 2-digit. I love that they are always up for a challenge. The other day it got a little rowdy. They all got a 2 by 2 multiplication task card that they had to work. Of course, I have the answers, and each card was given a point value. We went in order and asked for the answers to see if they were correct. If they were correct the class got the points. If they were wrong, the teacher got the points. They were winning, it was all good, but then they started to miss question after question and here I am racking up the points, even catching up. Then they started to get answers correct and students who were having trouble were asking the other students for help and they were helping. Yes…I lost, but I loved their determination and teaching each other. We had fun!
-In 5th grade math, we are working with decimal place values, and we are about to add and subtract decimals. This year, however, there is a surprise, we will also multiply and divide decimals. This is something new because we don’t multiply and divide decimals in 4th grade. I think they will enjoy it. Decimals are always easier than fractions.
-Students need to practice their multiplication math facts. The work is getting challenging. A few minutes every night will make a big difference.
Thank you for your support,
Stacy Gamez
Gracias por tu apoyo,
