Major's Minute

I have a family member, which shall remain unnamed, who helped me remember a simple lesson. This person had to take a vision test. For what reason? Again, I shall not tell. As this person was asked to cover up each eye to read the lines on the vision chart, this person realized that one eye could not read anything. Upon further investigation, it was found out that this person was only wearing one contact! The person administering the test started laughing and saying she's never seen this before. She's seen people wearing glasses or contacts, or forgot their glasses, but never half the number of contacts needed.


As many of us are slowly getting back into the rhythm of school and work again from the summer months, let's remember to slow down a bit. Take time to put on what we need to in order to see clearly. Take the time in the Word, to see God's promises. Take time to pray to see God's kindness. Take time to worship with our family to see God's faithfulness. When we do this, we see more clearly who God is.


Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

**Note - We are updating our volunteer files. We'll be asking current and new volunteers to complete the volunteer packet. We will also be giving you instructions on how to get additional fingerprinting (now required by law) for those who work with youth. You will not need to pay for anything. We will guide you on how to get this done.**

14 Second Saturday: Sons (Men 's Breakfast @ 8 am) and Second Saturday Sisters (Women @ 10 am)

15 Rally Day Potluck - Sunday gearing up to celebrate everyone back from summer. Bring a side to share if able. We are inviting summer camp families to join us this day to pick up Earthquakes tickets along with the church family.

21 Earthquakes Match, Join us for the fun. Free tickets for the game and food at the game. Details coming soon for transportation there and back. Please RSVP by September 15.

Rally Sunday and Potluck

This is our time to celebrate being back from summer traveling and getting back to the rhythm of meeting together at church. It's also a great time to invite friends and family to your church and be a part of the worshipping body. Plan to bring a side dish to share. But remember, the most important thing to bring is YOU!

Impromptu young adult fellowship.

Liway retiring from The Salvation Army after 28 years.

Silicon Valley celebrating Liway with a meal, cake, and love.

Major Aeran Oh and Majors Charleen and Matthew Morrow.

Liway received a plaque, digital photo album, and a book of letters from previous officers.

What a great first night back at Bible study! Thank you Kris for the great dinner!

Liway worked with at least 1,000,000 volunteers (no exaggeration)!

Trick or Treating at CANDY CORN WAY

We're inviting the community (including yourself) to come to our First Annual Trick or Treating at CANDY CORN WAY - Getting the community onto our property to know that we are here and bless them. For our first event we are asking for hosts to decorate, purchase candy for, and/or pass out candy at the doors of our property from 5 - 7 PM. We'll have a handful of lawn activities and music - nothing too overwhelming our first year. We pray to meet families and grow this event each year to come.
