Dear Allenwood Families,

It is with great honor and excitement that I begin my first year in service to the staff, students, and community as the principal of Allenwood Elementary School. I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we showcase the students of our school.

My 11 years in the classroom, plus 11 years serving as an administrator, have helped me develop strong background knowledge in the areas of early childhood and elementary education. It is my goal to ensure that every day counts in Allenwood and with our school’s stakeholders. Research shows that students perform better in school when there is a strong home/school connection. Therefore, my door is always open to parents/guardians if you have any questions, concerns, and/or need assistance throughout the school year. The staff at Allenwood is also willing to work closely with all stakeholders, so please make every effort to be a part of your child’s education.

Our commitment to academic, social, and emotional excellence demonstrates the need for the staff, students, parents, and stakeholders to work together to lay the educational foundation for our students, so they may become lifelong learners. I also strongly encourage that homework be completed daily and students come to school ready to learn.

Lastly, I ask that all stakeholders of our school speak words of encouragement to our students on a daily basis. Our words of encouragement and daily affirmations will help our students know that they matter and that they can accomplish great things in their lives.

Students' homerooms will be posted in Genesis on August 23, 2024. Please know that in order to have access to your child's homeroom teacher, you will have to acknowledge all forms in Genesis.

Dear WTPS Elementary Parents and Guardians,

As we are wrapping up the 2023-2024 school year, our students are looking forward to a well deserved break! Summer is a great time to recharge and reset! While we’re doing that, we want to be mindful of the “Summer Slide.” Summer learning loss is a real thing, but it can be significantly minimized with meaningful and consistent activities to keep those brains sharp.

If you didn’t have a chance to attend last night’s parent presentation, “Let’s Avoid the Summer Slide,” please take a moment to click through the presentation as it contains many links with resources to help your child become a Summer Climber and avoid becoming a Summer Slider! Don’t miss the incentive slide, which explains how to earn raffle tickets to win individual and class rewards!

Although nothing is mandatory, these opportunities provide a chance for our students to engage their brains and minimize summer regression. Parents are encouraged to assist their children when needed.

Families must submit a new application every school year.

During the first 30 school days, students with free and reduced-price meal eligibility from the prior school year will be carried over.

Any student who has not filled out an application up the the 30th school day will have their prior year status changed to full pay status until a new application is received.

Parents / guardians are highly encouraged to fill out the applications as soon as possible. Also, it is very important that applications are filled out correctly.

Please note if families receive a direct certification letter in the mail / email, families do not have to fill out a free and reduced application for the school year. If you are unable to print at home, copies are available in your school's main office.
