Edudance and One Big Voice
I am thrilled to announce two exciting events happening this term:
Edudance: Our students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 are actively participating in Edudance. This week marked the start of Edudance, and we are looking forward to the Edudance concert in our school hall during Week 9. All parents and families are invited to join us for this free concert. Following the performance, we will have an Open Afternoon where you can explore an array of student work samples displayed throughout the school.
One Big Voice: Our School Choir is gearing up for a musical extravaganza! These dedicated students attend weekly choir rehearsals with Mrs. Murray and have been practicing diligently for the One Big Voice performance. This year, our School Choir will attend the matinee session. Parents of children in the choir can purchase tickets through Ticketek. Additional information has been provided to parents of our school choir.
Year 2 Liturgy
Thank you to our Year 2 students for preparing their beautiful Liturgy on Reconciliation on Thursday. It was a lovely reflection on how God forgives us when we make mistakes and how we are also called to forgive others when they make mistakes too. Human beings make mistakes, and it is so important that we remember to say sorry with not only our words, but more importantly by our actions. By being a forgiving people, we are able to restore our relationships and create a positive community.
Confirmation
Our Year 6 confirmation candidates have been preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which takes place this term. Confirmation is a special ceremony in the Catholic Church where children receive the Holy Spirit and become a full member of the Church. It is a special time where they strengthen their relationship with God, and renew the vows that their parents made for them at Baptism. Please keep our Confirmation candidates in your prayers as they prepare for their special day.
Canteen Specials
Look out for our Canteen Specials this semester. Each week, we will send a flyer home to advise of our weekly special.
Canteen is open Mondays and Fridays every week. Students from Kindy to Year 6 are able to order their recess or lunch on these days.
Next week we will have our very first special, selling red hot dogs for just $2.50 each on Monday and Friday. Look out for our next flyer to discover what our Week 4 special might be.
Please contact our office if you would like assistance in ordering from our canteen, or would like a copy of our menu.

Community Code of Conduct
This week's focus is:
Student Voice
At St Jude's we:
- Encourage students to express their ideas and thoughts in relation to their well-being and their learning.
- Are excited to find out more about our students' interests.
- Help our children to set goals and to think about their learning.
- Allow children to be independent as far as possible and accept consequences of their choices and actions.
- Allow children to have a voice but understand it may not always be what we are expecting.
- Have class and school leadership opportunities where students are responsible for 'real' activities throughout the school. For example our Environmental Committee, Waste Warriors, Communications Team, Pastoral Team, Environmental Team, and Sport Team.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Religious Education Assessment (REA)
This week our Year 3 and Year 5 students completed their practice test in preparation for the Religious Education Assessment to be held next week.
The REA measures student learning of the mandated content in the Religious Education Curriculum. Test items relevant to each participating year level are developed by the Religious Education Directorate at the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia. The test items consist of multiple choice, short and extended response.
As a system-wide assessment, the REA informs teaching and assessment practices in Religious Education by providing classroom teachers, school and system leaders with a βpoint in timeβ snapshot of student achievement. Over time, the REA also provides information about student progress in Religious Education.
