Mrs. Mulvanerty's Update
August 18, 2024

April 6, 2025
Hello SKS!
We've all heard the saying, "April showers bring May flowers." It's a reminder that challenges help us grow! Just as flowers need rain to bloom, we need challenges to build resilience.
This holds true in education. As students make the big push towards the end of the school year they are being shaped by their challenges. Every late-night study session, every difficult test, every moment of self-discipline is a training ground for resilience. This is good! Raising resilient kids is the greatest gift we can ever give.
We all know resilience matters, but how do we help our students develop it?
Celebrate effort and progress, not perfection.
Create a safe space where they feel encouraged to try, fail, and try again.
Let them know that when they make mistakes (which they will -- it's part of growing up) -- that you love and support them, no matter what.
Lead by example—show patience and perseverance in your own challenges.
Give them the opportunity to solve problems on their own - fixing everything makes them helpless.
Instill faith, hope, and optimism - remind them of the power of prayer as a source of strength.

Mrs. Mulvanerty
*God Bless You!
St. Katharine's Parish wants your Feedback!
Please complete the survey below!
Please complete the DMI survey! Spend just 10-15 minutes to reflect on how St. Katharine's supports your faith journey. The DMI is being offered from March 5 through April 10. This is your chance to let us know if St. Katharine's is meeting your spiritual needs!
Click here to take the survey!
You can also pick up a paper copy in the rectory and tables in church. Return completed forms to the baskets in the front and back of church.
Virtual Monthly Rosary

Smartwatch Reminder
It's Smart to leave Smartwatches HOME!
Students may not wear smartwatches in school as they are a distraction and prevent focused learning. If a student wears a smartwatch to school, it will be treated as a cell phone, and the student will be asked to place it in his or her backpack. Students should not text from their watches at school -- even to text you! If your child needs to call home for any reason, we can assist them at the front desk.
Craft Club

Tuition and Financial Aid
Thanks to all who joined us for the tuition and financial aid meeting. If you missed it, don't worry! Here is the complete deck. During the meeting, we talked extensively about how you can redirect your PA tax liability to SKS to both be part of our new TUITIONCARE program and to support EITC scholarships. As Mr. Griffin asked at the end of the presentation: "Why would anyone NOT do it????" We agree! Please help us shout this out from the rooftops, and contact me with ANY questions!
Mark Your Calendars : SKS Fall Classic!
October 6, 2025
The SKS Fall Classic on October 6, 2025 is a tremendous opportunity to bring our entire SKS community together, while raising some significant dollars for the school!
The day is a combination of events that start with a racquet outing at Overbrook Golf Club, a golf outing at Philadelphia Country Club, and a reception at Philadelphia Country Club that evening. It is open to all friends of SKS, which means we are casting our fundraising net beyond the current parents that includes alumni, alumni parents, and parishioners. All proceeds will go to benefit the school through the governance of the annual fund. We have the capacity for 30 foursomes, around 50 racquets players, and 250 dinner reception tickets. Some portions of those categories have been pre-sold as part of larger sponsorships, so I strongly encourage anyone with interest to jump on the ticket information here to register.
Thank you for your continued support of SKS and we look forward to seeing you on October 6th!
