I want to take a moment to thank those who attended our calendar meeting this Thursday. Your input is valuable during this decision making process. We will soon release a link to complete a calendar survey. Please take a few minutes to complete it and be on the lookout for updates in the coming weeks.

We also invite families and community members to attend our fourth Facility Task Force meeting next week. We continue to work together to ensure our district is prepared for the future, but we cannot do it without your support. Details about the meeting are below.

Our schools have a number of events planned for the next few weeks. We invite you to join us and celebrate our students. During this time, we ask that you help us keep our schools safe by reporting any suspicious activity. If you see something, say something.

I hope that you take time to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.

FISD will have its fourth community meeting to analyze our Master Facility Plan on Thursday, December 12. The purpose of this meeting is to finalize priority projects and funding options. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the FMS Cafeteria and will be open to the public. If you would like to join, please RSVP here.

Join our Menu Advisory Committee and help us provide an even better dining experience at each of our campuses. Committee members will offer feedback regarding cafeteria menus and new food items.

This is a friendly reminder about our next early release day: December 20. Please remember to make any necessary adjustments. If you child rides the school bus, ensure that someone will be home during drop-off.

We know families are excited for the winter break and to celebrate the holidays. Keep in mind that attendance is crucial year-round.

Mrs. Amanda Middleton, teacher at Floresville High School, is the FISD Teacher of the Month for December. Isabella Valdez and Tyler Mutz, seniors at FHS, are the Students of the Month. Congratulations to Mrs. Middleton, Isabella, and Tyler! Read about their accomplishments here!

A big "Thank you" goes out to all to our community members and partners who donate to help district families in need, especially during the holiday season.

In November, we collected 2,000 pounds of food during our district-wide food drive. All donations were delivered to the Floresville Food Pantry. Your generosity helped prepare baskets for Thanksgiving meals.

We also had a huge outpouring of support this year from not only the campuses, but community organizations for our District Angel Tree project! A total of 270 children will receive holiday gifts thanks to all those who signed up to adopt an angel. Thank you!

We are excited to bring you another edition of our CTE Newsletter this December! The newsletter is designed to keep you informed about our CTE programs, industry partnerships, important dates, student organizations, student achievements, and much more! This month we are focusing on our Health Science programs.

The Floresville ISD Board of Trustees recognized Mighty Tiger Band members and directors for competing in the State Open Class Marching Band Contest for the third consecutive year. During the December regular meeting, the Jaguar Volleyball team and coaches were also recognized after another great season. The Jaguars won the title of Regional Semifinals Champions and made history by advancing to the Regional Finals, securing a spot in the top 8 volleyball teams in Texas.
