We first wanted to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there that are "moming" in whatever capacity you are in. We appreciate you and even if you don't hear it very often, the ones that you are caring for also appreciate every little thing that you do for them. Thank you for never giving up on them, reminding them over and over again to keep at it, and sharing your love with them daily. Moms are so special and from one mom to another, we appreciate what you do for your kiddos!

Students who are going to be absent must have their request for early final exams pre-approved by their teacher and grade-level administrator.
- Students must pick up a "Early Final Exam Request" form from the Principal's Office with Ms. Karri Johnson.
We understand that students may miss school due to illness and we are happy to assist with any needed make-up exams once the student is well enough to return to school during the first few weeks of summer.
In order to maintain a positive and fair testing environment for students, we expect all students to remain in the classroom for the entire exam period. The front office will not call into a classroom or interrupt exams to dismiss any students from class prior to the bell.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in ensuring that all of our students are able to complete their exams.

DID YOU KNOW?
AP Testing
In case you didn't know, we have TESTING galore going on right now. IB and AP testing are in full swing! Check out our AP Calculus students having a little breakfast together before the big test!
Odyssey of the Mind
The Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament wrapped up on March 30th. Three CDO teams competed. Technical placed first, Structure placed 2nd, and Performance placed 1st. They will all be attending World Finals at Iowa State University on May 20th!
CDO HOSA
CDO HOSA will be attending the International Leadership Conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. 11 members will be going June 25th through the 30th where they will be networking, competing, learning and collaborating with almost 10,000 students and Industry professionals from around the world.
CDO Environmental Club
Environmental Club would like to thank the following volunteers for their hard work at the Earth Day celebration and work day to make our rain gardens thrive: Alyssa Phan, Aubrey Lenahan, Chloe Art, Vince Leon, Louisa Collins, Sean Gossen, Emily Reynolds, Brynley Ferris, Mia Salgado, Juliet Iadevaia, Daria Muratalieva, Kaitlyn Zavatsky, William Mullon, Jada Hoskinson, Parker Hollings, Hannah Ratje, Vic VanCleve, and Andre Quiroga. These champions of our planet put 13 native desert plants in the ground, installed 13 clay oyas to deliver slow-drip irrigation to those plants, pulled hundreds of weeds, pruned our beautiful flowering shrubs, and spread over 4 cubic yards of mulch to help plants retain water and to improve soil quality. Thanks for making our campus more beautiful, biodiverse, and more climate resilient!
French 1 Project
CDO French 1 students had to cook a typical French "petit-four" or "amuse-bouche" in groups. They sampled all of the food and everything was delicious!
The German Program
The German program sends out a heartfelt Danke schön (thank you) to the families who participated in this year's exchange program. Taylor Bigham, Victoria Bernard, Gavin Phillips and Charlie Smith hosted students from the state of Hessen in Germany for three weeks this Spring. The German partners contributed to class discussions and gave presentations about their life in Germany. An especially memorable moment was when German student Maxime presented to the Dream Team, and a few volunteers were excited to share their All-About-Me presentations with him. Gavin will travel to visit Maxime for three weeks in the summer, and we are looking forward for him to bring the experiences back to the German 4 classroom this Fall.
Amazing Fine Arts Programs
Our amazing Fine Arts Programs wrapped up the school year with their final performances, including their Senior Farewell events. Orchestra, Band, Theater, Dance and Visual Arts all had final showcases of our amazing student talent! Ms. Schmuker sent over some fun photos from their final Farewell performance where I was invited as a special guest to have a little fun! Mr. Holt also provided some Theater photos from the banquet, end of the year showcase, high school musical, and final comedy sports. And finally, Mr. Tagawa shared his final orchestra concert with his 6 graduating seniors.

Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) is looking for volunteers this summer! If you or someone you know is interested, please read the newsletter provided below!
