Greetings CHS Parents and Caregivers
Minnesota Valley Action Council Partnership
CHS is working with MVAC to assist students in gaining employment. MVAC provides resources, transportation, and wages to eligible students. Through this partnership, three students have been employed at Lincoln Community Center as our welcome window staff. Many more opportunities are available. Contact Dan Sharpsteen, Dean of Students, for more information.
Attendance Incentive Program
Students are being rewarded for making good choices and attending school regularly with various prizes. Students are honored for their dedication to attending school based on three tiers 70-79%, 80-89%, and 90-100%. The higher the percentage attended, the bigger the reward!
Wednesday Experiential Learning and WIN Time
Students are busy working on their projects during their Experiential Learning courses. Our PC Building course is in full swing, students are learning to make apple pie in our Foods course, and students diligently work on their models in our model building course.
Wednesday afternoons are dedicated to What I Need Time (WIN Time). Students have an opportunity to receive extra support in their classes through reteaching, complete missing assignments, credit acceleration, and credit recovery. It is extremely important for your student to attend this time to either stay on track or get caught up. This time is not optional and part of the regular school day.
Missing Assignment Notifications
Each Tuesday, caregivers will be emailed a list of missing assignments for their student. Please use this information to have conversations as home on the importance of completing school work.
