CRIMINAL JUSTICE HELP WITH TRAFFIC CONTROL
The Bath Tech Criminal Justice program was asked to help direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic during the Governor's talk in the Montgomery Theater on Climate Control. The students have recently been studying traffic stops and traffic safety so this detail fit nicely into their work.
BUDDY BENCH
Sadly this summer the "buddy bench" was damaged this summer at Dike Newell. Bath Tech Carpentry students were happy to build, paint, and deliver the bench to Dike Newell this week. We hope many new friendships are made while sitting on the bench.
EMBARK VISITS BATH TECH
The Embark program is a statewide, comprehensive, high school-to-college transition program, sponsored by the Maine Community College system. Embark participants will continue to have the support of the program while attending one of the Maine Community Colleges, along with the potential of a $2000 scholarship over 2 years. Since 2003, over 5,000 students have received an Embark scholarship and entered a Maine community college.
We currently have 10 students accepted into the program from 3 out of 4 of our sending schools. Their next meeting with Pauline Moreau, the Embark College Access Advisor from SMCC, will be on January 6th.
BACHMANN INDUSTRIES VISIT PRE ENGINEERING
Thank you to Katherine and Mike from Bachmann Industries for taking the time out of their day to come and talk to the engineering students about the local engineering work being done in Maine to help support the oil and gas sectors across the globe. Their insight and experiences peaked the students interest in a field that many didn't know even existed.
