Welcome to AMHS
2024 - 2025 School Year!
Message from the Principal
Dear Arabia Mountain High School,
As we embark on the 2024-2025 school year, I am thrilled to welcome back our students, families, staff, and the entire community to another exciting chapter at Arabia Mountain High School. I hope you have enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer break.
This year, we are aligned with the district's inspiring theme, "Disrupting for Excellence: New Levels; New Heights." At our school, we are embracing this vision through our unique theme, "RAMiverse: Blasting Beyond Expectations." This symbolizes our commitment to reaching new levels and heights in teaching and learning, where we aim to empower every student to reach their fullest potential without limitations.
Our goal is to foster excellence in education, creating an environment filled with boundless opportunities and continuous growth. We are dedicated to challenging our students, nurturing their talents, and preparing them for a bright future. We believe that every member of our school community plays a vital role in this journey, and together, we can achieve extraordinary things.
As we move forward into this academic year, I encourage you to engage with us, share your ideas, and collaborate in our mission to provide the best educational experience possible. Your support and involvement are crucial to our collective success.
Please mark your calendars for our 2024-2025 Open House on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 1:30pm-6:00pm. We look forward to reconnecting with you, sharing our plans for the year, and celebrating the beginning of another remarkable school year.
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Tanya Mason | Principal Arabia Mountain High School
Need a schedule change?
Important Information About Class Schedules for the 2024-2025 School Year
Please be advised that our counselors are working diligently to finalize schedules and balance classes for the upcoming school year. Any changes to class schedules will be updated in Infinite Campus throughout the first week of school. We encourage all students to check their schedules regularly to ensure they are attending the correct classes. Final Date for Schedule Change request is August 18, 2024. No exceptions.
Schedule changes are allowed for the following reasons:
- Missing a required course for graduation
- Level change requests (e.g., AP to Accel, Accel to AP, Regular to Accel, etc.)
- Completion of a course credit during summer school
- Course taken and passed previously
- Revisions required due to dual enrollment
If a student has requested a schedule change, it is important to continue checking Infinite Campus throughout the first week of school for any updates.

Attention 11th Grade Students and Parents
11th Grade Immunization Requirements
All students entering or transferring into 11th grade will need proof of a meningococcal booster shot (MCV4), unless their first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday.
Note that this booster vaccine is required in addition to the MCV4 vaccine that was required for your child before his or her beginning 7th grade.
Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that affects the brain and the spinal cord. Meningitis can cause shock, coma, and death within hours of the first symptoms.
To help protect your children and others from meningitis, Georgia law requires students to be vaccinated against this disease unless the child has an exemption.
Additional Requirements
- Certificates must be signed by a physician licensed in GA or a public health official. A stamp of a Physician’s signature is permissible when cosigned by an office staff member.
- Certificates must have a printed typed or stamped name and address of the physician, health department, or Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) official issuing the certificate.
- Certificates must have a complete date of issue with the month, day, and year.
Exemptions
In the state of Georgia, if there is a religious objection to the vaccination of a child, a completed affidavit on Form 2208 is required. After completion of the affidavit, the parent or legal guardian must have the form filed with the school or childcare facility the child will be attending as legal documentation of exemption from the required immunizations mentioned above.
Medical Waivers/Exemptions are a part of Georgia Form 3231 and are reviewed annually.
Please submit a copy of your student's updated immunization record to our school nurse, Ms. Hill, in the clinic by Friday, August 11th. You may also email a copy to our nurse at bettye_hill@dekalbschoolsga.org.
Please visit DCSD's Registration page for more information.
