On June 17th at 7pm at the Milton Public Library there will be an in-person presentation in the Keys Community Room by co-editor Debra Bingham of Milton about her son's book called: "Ripples of Hope in the Mississippi Delta: Charting the Health Equity Policy Agenda" written by David K. Jones of Milton, who was an Associate Professor of Health Law, Policy and Management at Boston University School of Public Health. He was also the author of "Exchange Politics: Opposing Obamacare in Battleground States." Other speakers will include: Fifi Diop, MD the first Commissioner of Health Equity for the state of MA and Boston University Professor Nicole Huberfeld (a co-editor of David’s book). At this event we will also premier the short introductory documentary film titled: Ripples of Hope. This 15-minute film talks about David and includes individuals who David identified to be “Ripples of Hope” in the Mississippi Delta.

• Thursday, May 8 starting at 1:00 PM: DIY Mother's Day Cards, Ages 4+ - Join Ms. Tory in the Story Hour Room to make a Mother's Day card for your mom, another family member, or a loved one. This is an all-day, drop-in program
• Saturday, May 10 at 11:00 AM: Children's Author Event with Jonathan Ronzio, Ages 3-8 — Please join us for a visit with picture book author, Jonathan Ronzio! Jonathan will join us in the Keys Community Room to share their book, Sprocesses (Trainual Press), and answer questions about his work as an author. Themed activity sheets will be provided. This program requires registration
• Saturday, May 17 at 2:30 PM: Cookbook Club for Kids, Ages 6-12 — Attention to our younger chefs! Ms. Tory invites you and a grownup to Cookbook Club for Kids! Each club meeting will feature a selected children's cookbook, and kids (with grownup help!) will prepare a tasty treat from the book to bring to the Story Hour Room and share. The cookbook chosen for May is Marvelously Revolting Recipes by Roald Dahl. This program requires registration.
• Wednesday, May 21 at 4:00 PM: Graphic Novel Book Club, Grades 3-5 — Join Ms. Tory each month to discuss a pre-selected graphic novel or comic. Request a copy through the OCLN catalog, or pick up a reserved copy in the MPL Children's Room. This program requires registration.
• Thursday, May 22 at 4:00 PM: Afterschool Special, All Ages — A showing of your favorite family movie in the Story Hour Room! Bring your movie snack and a comfy blanket. We are showing: IF. This program does not require registration.
• Saturday, May 24 at 2:30 PM: Mel O'Drama, Ages 5-9 — Join local drama teacher Melanie Grace Gillespie for a theatrical and creative hour of Mel O'Drama! Students will enjoy such fun activities as warmups, improv games, voice projection, scene work, and movement. This program requires registration.
• Thursday, May 29 at 4:00 PM: Plant-a-Garden, Ages 6-12 — Looking for a way to introduce your children to the basics of gardening? Kids will learn the "how to's" of planting seeds and seedlings into window boxes placed on the front steps of the Canton Avenue entrance. All young gardeners who participate in the session will also plant a vegetable or flower into a pot to take home. This program requires registration.
• Saturday, May 31 at 2:30 PM: Chalk Party, Ages 4+ — Join Ms. Tory in the Story Hour Room Garden for a chalk party! Listen and dance to kid-friendly tunes, play with bubbles, and draw a chalk masterpiece! This program does not require registration.
