A message to our outgoing 6th grade students...

I believe music speaks when words fail. And sometimes song lyrics can speak for what is in your heart.

May the good luck be with you down every road you roam.
And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home.
And may you grow to be proud, dignified and true.
And do unto others as you'd have done to you.
Be courageous and be brave.
And in my heart you'll always stay...

And as you fly away, I'll be hoping that Collins served you well.

It has been our honor and pleasure to have served you and your families these quick two years. It may be the next time I see you... you will be walking the stage at College Park's graduation. You will grow up and experience many things that will form you into the person you are meant to be. I wish you grace and peace in the journey. We are both excited and sad to share that Mrs. McCure will be moving to Bush Elementary to work with our younger CISD aged children. We are so thankful for the five years she served our Collins community. Her care for the children and families is part of what makes Collins so special.

We are excited for Alex Schultz to join our Collins family and community. Mrs. Schultz is no stranger to Collins Intermediate as she was a special education teacher at Collins before leaving to begin her counseling career at McCullough Jr. High School in the fall of 2015. Welcome home!

On June 11, 2024 Mrs. LeBlanc sent an email/text to families if your student was identified for required placement in 6th advanced math based on the 2024 5th math STAAR test score but had been in level math in 5th grade. This brief video explains the placement and the impact on math progression in junior high and high school.

Towards the middle of July Collins will send out email notification to parents if your child was placed in 5th grade advanced math for the 2024-2025 school year. Much like the video above a specific video will be prepared for 5th families to help understand math placement and the new state guidelines for math placement from 5th to 6th.

Starting in the Summer of 2024, the SMART tag Parent App will replace the SMART tag Parent Portal.

• The SMART tag Parent Portal will be unavailable after May 24th, 2024 and will be replaced by the SMART tag Parent App which will be accessible to all parents on May 27th, 2024.
• The district will communicate with parents/guardians regarding how to download the app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or scan a QR code. There will be detailed instructions to parents to download the app and register with the same email address used for the Parent Portal.

• Students may enter the building at 7:45 AM (Please enter 5th grade side door)

Lunch Times

• A Lunch (5th grade) 11:50 AM - 12:25 PM

• B Lunch (6th grade) 12:35 PM - 1:10 PM

• Collins Café is open to visitors!
  

Front Office: 8:00 AM—4:30 PM

End of Day

• 3:30 PM - Calls to change transportation end
• 3:35 PM - Cones for car rider dismissal will be set - cars for early pick up will not fit in front parking area
• 3:40 PM - Early student check out ends
• 3:45 PM - First flight of 7 cars moves forward to cones, staff begins inputting numbers. Please display car rider sign in window.
• 4:00 PM - Flights 1 - 4 are dismissed along with bike riders
• 4:04 PM - Walkers are dismissed. Students meet parents at cones 1 - 7. Once a flight is loaded, cars are dismissed to take a RIGHT hand turn only to exit.
• Buses are dismissed based on bus arrival to campus.
