"Stay in the Loop" 2023-2024 18th Edition
Principal's Letter
THE WAGGONER ROAD WIDENING PROJECT BEGINS ON MONDAY, APRIL 29!
- Our EARLY MORNING DROPOFF is available from 7:00-7:30.
- If your child enters through Door C, there will be a $3.00 per day charge. Please consider using this option!
- ALL traffic will be northbound on Waggoner Rd. for at least 18 month.
- The only way to enter Waggoner will be from Main Street.
- We will use our typical arrival/dismissal procedures for at least two weeks to determine if a change is needed.
- If we switch to our alternative dismissal plan, we will communicate the change with written and video explanations.
- Please allow cars to exit our lot as you are entering. (We may have officers assisting.)
- PLEASE consider having your child take a bus to cut down on traffic in our lot. (Pickerington students can shuttle from the high school with a 7:20 a.m. pickup.)
- If you must drive your child, please plan to add time to your morning and afternoon commutes.
- We will be more lenient the first couple weeks of the change, but will communicate our morning tardy policy and afternoon late fee policy after we have time to observe the changes.
- If you have a concern about the project, please email the City of Reynoldsburg at roadprojects@reynoldsburg.gov.
- Please be patient!
ADDED 4/29: BECAUSE OF THE TRAFFIC BACKUP ON WAGGONER BEFORE SCHOOL, CARS SHOULD FOLLOW THE MORNING LOOP AND PARK SIMILARLY TO OUR AFTERNOON PICKUP. STAFF MEMBERS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO HELP DIRECT PARENTS.

Our APEX Fundraisers Begins on Monday!
K to 6th Obstacle Course and Jr. High Color Games
This year, instead of a Fun Run, we are excited to boost our APEX fundraiser with an obstacle course for our Pre-K through 6th grade students, and our Jr. High students will participate in the highly anticipated APEX Color Games again this year. Proceeds from this event will help fulfill student and teacher wish lists, and provide additional updates to the school. Depending on what we raise, we are looking into the following larger purchases requested by our students: swings for the playground, TVs for the cafeteria, soccer nets, additional STEM materials and technology (virtual reality headsets & robots for the primary grades), and a possible rock climbing wall.
Next week, we will be sending out a SignUp Genius to gather volunteers for the two events below:
Thursday May 9th
(Kindergarten and 1st Grade) - 9:15 - 10:15
(2nd and 3rd Grade) - 10:30 - 11:30
(4th Grade and 5th Grade) - 12:30 - 1:15
(6th Grade) - 1:25 - 2:10
Friday May 10th - Color Games 7th and 8th
12:30 - 1:30
Teacher Appreciation*
In Our Teacher Era
The Home and School Association is graciously showering the teachers & staff with snacks, treats, and fun during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-11)! Thanks to the organizational efforts of Katie Chilicki, the HSA Teacher Appreciation rep, we would also like to shower our teachers with compliments. If you could use the template below to write a compliment to any of our teachers and send it back to me, we would appreciate your love! If the template doesn't work, and it is easier to send a compliment to me, I will upload them as notes to the teacher. bbuzensk1@cdeducation.org
Willy Wonka
It's difficult to put into words just how PHENOMENAL the Willy Wonka performance was! The show received RAVE reviews from students, staff, and families, and it was a visual masterpiece! The cast was overflowing with talent and the stage crew was seamless in their execution. All of this would not have been possible without the amazing team who led this production. We'd like to thank Mrs. Karen Smith (Director), Mrs. Trainer (Sets), Mrs. Schwab (Costumes), Mr. Kerr (Line Coach), Mrs. Yokum (Props and Stage Crew) and Mr. Frase (Sound).
*Check out the video below for photos from their performances!*

We Love Our Assistant Principal
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO, MISS B!
National Assistant Principal Week is celebrated in April, so we didn't want to miss the opportunity to honor our favorite, hard-working, talented, and faith filled AP, Miss Bernadette Buzenski. Since St. Bernadette's Feast Day was April 16th, we showered our own "Saint" Bernadette with love last week. Our students and teachers wrote cards, made posters, and even created a beautiful St. Bernadette mosaic. Many of the students shared how moved they've been by Miss B's stories and reflections during Adoration. Here are a few beautiful snippets:
"...maybe you'll become a saint of adoration..."
"It really makes me happy when you start to read or talk about the gospel, saints, or just prayers out loud. I love that you do it and would like it if you did it even more."
Thank you for taking the time to lead us through adoration. I always feel happy when I get to talk to God."
"Thank you for making adoration so special and peaceful. I really enjoy the music you play in the background."
"Thank you for taking time out of your day to tell stories and set this all up. I love it because it helps heal me."
"Shadow a Teacher" Gala of Giving Winner
Congratulations to Miss. Lucy Schneider!
