Olympic Middle School
Weekly Message for April 22-26
Good afternoon Olympic families and staff!
Our students did an excellent job representing Olympic last Friday at Junior Programs! After a mishap with the buses for the morning show, over 400 students and staff made it to Shelton High School by walking! Buses were available for the trip back and the afternoon show. If you have not had the time, ask your student about “Frindle.” This was one of my favorite books to read with students when I taught 4th grade.
We have some fun events occurring over the next few weeks:
Tomorrow, Monday April 22 is our walkathon! Please make sure your student is prepared to walk and for the colder weather in the morning.
Friday, April 30th, our 5th grade students will participate in the Forest Festival Field Day at the Mason Lake Recreation Area.
Friday, May 3rd will be our next PTSO/OMS school social after school until 4:00 pm. Watch for more information coming soon.
On Tuesday after school, Olympic staff will attend an informational session on Narcan and how to administer it. While we hope we will never have to use Narcan on campus, being prepared can save a life.
Also, this week, our incoming 5th grade students (currently 4th graders) from our three feeder elementary schools will visit us: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We are super excited to give our future Eagles their first glance at Olympic and student life!
Intramurals:
Practices will run from 2:45-4:30 M, T and F this week.
Thursday, April 25th will be a meet and athletes with last names starting with A-L will participate.
Let us have a wonderful week at Olympic!
Mary K. Johnson, Principal
