Celebrating the Success of Our Accelerated Career Diploma Program
Dublin High School takes great pride in offering students multiple pathways to success, and our Accelerated Career Diploma (ACD) Program is a shining example of how we prepare students for rewarding careers while they complete their high school education.
Through the ACD program, students complete nine required high school courses while simultaneously enrolling in a dual enrollment program with a technical college. This unique opportunity allows students to graduate with not only their high school diploma but also a Technical Career Certificate or even an Associate Degree, giving them a significant head start in their chosen career field.
One of our most recent success stories is Jarvis Wiggins, a graduate of the ACD program who exemplifies hard work and determination. Jarvis completed his high school graduation requirements and continued his welding pathway at Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) as a junior. In December 2024, he graduated from OFTC with certifications in Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welder (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welder Milledgeville (GMAW), making him a highly skilled and in-demand welder. This May, he will officially graduate from Dublin High School during the school’s commencement ceremony. His dedication and skills have already paid off—Jarvis was recently hired by Wild Boar, a local welding company, setting him on a strong career path right out of high school.
Jarvis Wiggins is truly the face of the Accelerated Career Diploma Program at Dublin High School, and we couldn’t be more proud of his achievements! While enrolled in the ACD program, Jarvis was able to participate in football and wrestling while completing his dual enrollment program with OFTC.
If you or someone you know is interested in this unique and rewarding opportunity, especially for students who want to enter the workforce immediately after high school, we encourage you to reach out. Give us a call to learn more about how this program can set students on a fast track to career success!
High Achievement and Success for All Students!

Congratulations to Dublin High School’s Amiria Thomas
A proud member of the Fighting Irish Family since Pre-K, Amiria was named the 2025 Youth of the Year at the Dublin St. Patrick’s Festival Joint Civic Luncheon held on Friday. This prestigious honor adds to her already incredible accomplishments—she was recently named the Black Festival’s Youth of the Year and currently serves as Miss Black Dublin.
A dual-enrollment student, Amiria shines in the classroom, cheers on the Fighting Irish as a football and basketball cheerleader, represents the Class of 2025 on Dublin High School’s Student Government Association, and is an active member of FBLA, Beta Club, and the track team.
Beyond her time at school, she serves as the City Manager for the City of Dublin’s Youth Council and is a Teen Court Attorney. She is also a 2023 graduate of Laurens Youth Leadership and a 2024 graduate of the Morris Bank Advisory Council. In addition, she has served as a youth advisor on the Irish Healthcare Planning Committee and a Fairview Park Hospital Youth Volunteer.
She is also an award-winning dancer, dedicating many hours each week to training at Fancy Dancer.
This fall, she’ll take her talents to Valdosta State University, where she plans to major in nursing.
We are so proud of you, Amiria!

Accelerated Career Pathways offer qualified students a unique path to high school graduation. Students choose to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college Associate of Applied Science Degree, Technical Diploma, an approved program that leads to licensure, or two (2) approved Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC’s) in a specific career pathway. Accelerated Career students will utilize the “ACE” Grant to cover their pathway of choice, and must be enrolled in a TCSG institution. Students interested in pursuing Accelerated Career pathways should contact their high school counselor or any of the 22 Technical College System of Georgia’s colleges.
FCCLA Shines in the Community
Talk about serving up success! Over the past few weeks, our Dublin City Schools College and Career Academy Family and Consumer Science students have been hard at work, catering meals for nearly 400 people! From planning to plating, our students have showcased their skills at events such as the 3rd Annual Communities In Schools Honors Gala, Dublin High School's Shamrock the Mock Interview, Dublin High School’s Board Member Appreciation Celebration and the Irishettes' Annual Banquet.
Our Family and Consumer Science (FACS) students have taken the lead in food preparation, storage, and safety to ensure every event runs smoothly. They also handle invoice checks, proper food storage, and meal production — all while maintaining high industry standards. Plus, FCCLA members ensure we have professional servers, while FACS students also gain hands-on serving experience.
Not only do our chefs in training cook, but they also take full responsibility for cleaning and room restoration—an essential part of their work ethic grade and real-world career readiness.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, professionalism, and dedication to excellence in the culinary arts! And, we appreciate our Family and Consumer Science teacher, Ms. Ernestine O'Neal, for providing our students with such unique opportunities!
