Storage Devices
Optical Storage
Optical storage is recorded and stored by making marks in a pattern that can be read with the aid of light, most commonly a laser precisely focused on a spinning disc.
Examples of optical storage are CD, DVD and Blueray.
Magnetic Storage
Magnetic storage uses different patterns of magnetization to store data in a non-volatile fashion.
Examples of magnetic storage are floppy discs and credit card strips.
Solid State Storage
A solid state drive is a storage device that cannot be changed physically and is made up of a circuit.
