Staff and Family Gelato Survey... Your Feedback is Requested
Our 6th Graders Need your Feedback
Each year the Sixth Grade students work with Matt Madison, the owner of Madisono’s Gelato to create and sell their own unique flavor. This ten week project takes the students through several phases of new product development, culminating with the sale of their flavor at the Kilgour Carnival. Last week the students had every student in the school complete their first survey to collect information to drive their brainstorming of flavors. The students will be analyzing the data when they return from spring break. If you would like to help their data collection by completing their survey click the link below.
Spring Break Resources from our Social Worker
We hope you are having a safe and enjoyable spring break! To be sure that our families have what they need during this time away from school, we have created a one stop shop for various food pantries, crisis/mental health numbers, and local activities that you may find helpful.
Author Tracy Blom Reads to 2nd Graders During the #ReadAcrossCPS Initiative
"Last week was a journey of imagination at Kilgour School as students welcomed author Tracy Blom! Her readings whisked students away to distant lands, sparking their creativity and love for storytelling. They even made crafts of kindness to share with families or those in nursing homes!" Each second grader was also gifted one of Tracy's children's books.

More Representation Needed for the Kilgour Multi-Cultural Fair
Our school is rich with culture. Please consider helping us showcase the vast array of cultures that our school represents.
We only have 9 volunteers signed up for the Multicultural Fair. We need between 18-22 volunteers to make the fair a success. We will have to cancel the fair if we do not have enough volunteers. We have representatives from Mexico, India, Poland, Scotland and Hungary. We can have more than one representative from each country.
Deadline for signing up: Friday, April 5, 2024
It Feels Good to Do Good... 2nd Grade Collecting Through 4/19
At Kilgour we pledge to take care of ourselves, and others! The 2nd graders have really invested in taking care of others this quarter. After watching some Steve Hartman Kindness 101 videos, they voted to help foster children in our tri-state area. Their willingness to lean into kindness gave way to their current fundraising campaign in partnership with Payton's Lemonade Stand.
They enlisted the help of Student Council to create posters and raise awareness for their fundraiser around the school. They have even done morning announcements to be sure their voices help amplify their campaign.
Will you follow their lead and fill the donation bins with cozy pajamas and gift cards for new gym shoes? See below for details on how to help them spread kindness to foster children in our area.
