JDP- A Green School
Summer to Autumn
School Grounds Enhancement
🌿 JDP Garden Club is currently growing: Oregano, rosemary, pole beans, banana plants, a newly planted a tomato plant and a variety of wildflowers. Our basil and green pepper plant made it through the summer, and a storm...we'll see how they do over the next few months.
👨🌾 Community Garden Beautification Day: Joining Mrs. Sapienza were Green Club members, Cynthia & Quentin Million and their mother, Naomi. As well as, Scarlett & Vivian Schmidt, along with their mother, Kimberly. JDP Rockets, Kahlan & Breanna Hufnagel joined us with their grandmother Barbara.
📣SAC Members granted Green Club with the funds to order crushed shell to create a pathway through the garden.
📣Mrs. Kimberly Moore from the UF/IFAS Family Nutrition Program gifted us with mulch to spruce up the garden.
📣Mr. Freitas with Team Parks, donated a wheelbarrow to our Garden Club.
🏅Florida Wildflower Foundation Grant Recipient. We received 4 new varieties of wildflowers through Seedlings for Schools.
❗We made some headway with the school garden, but we have lots of work left to finish. Our next Garden Beautification Day will be in December. Please keep a look out for the date and consider volunteering some of your time. We need the rest of the pathway cleared so that shell can be laid. We had a pallet of mulch delivered as well that didn't get touched yet. We need more manpower! Please help your school family with this worthwhile mission.❗

Community Service
🌊 In September, was the International Coastal Cleanup. A great group of Green Club members, as well as JDP Rockets worked together to beautify Flagler Park in Downtown Stuart.
🚯 Palm Beach Road Adoption Program through Keeping Martin Beautiful has been renewed for the 24-25 school year. Green Club members sold our harvests to teachers and staff last year, earning $25. This year, Green Club members harvested Oregano that was sold at Spooktacular - $10 was donated. These funds, along with Mrs. Sapienza's donation, we were able to keep our road!
Once we get our garden managed, we will begin to schedule Road Cleanups.
