Madrona Monthly Newsletter
October 2, 2023
Greetings Madrona Community!
Beginning Tuesday, October 3rd, our Fall after school programs will begin. Girls and Boys SCORES Soccer/Poetry teams will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 4:00 pm in the gym with Mr. Werth or with the poetry coaches in their classrooms. Enrollment for this club is now closed. This club will be dismissed from the back gate promptly at 4:00 pm. Please make arrangements to pick your student up on time.
We also have three Girl Scout Troops meeting at Madrona this year (Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors). These clubs will meet on the first Tuesday of every month from 2:30 - 4:00 pm. This club will also be dismissed from the back gate at 4:00 pm.
As we add more clubs and activities for our students, we will let you know. For now, we are extremely excited about the enrichment opportunities that are happening in our community.
On Thursday, October 5th, we are hosting our annual Curriculum Night from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Our doors will open at 5:15 pm and dinner will be served at 5:30 pm. Please plan to enter from the playground gate for this event. Our Madrona Student Representatives will be there to welcome you, help you sign in, and guide you to the cafeteria for our program. Please note, students are welcome to attend this event, but they must be accompanied by an adult. Hope to see everyone there!
Picture day this year is on October 9th! A flyer will be sent home later this week for families to select a picture package. Please note, these are individual pictures, and this day will be a FREE DRESS DAY. Uniforms are not required.
As a celebration in our community, we planned a spirit week for the last week of the month. We will send home detailed information about this week and how we would like students to show their school spirit. Just as a reminder, please don't go out and buy special outfits for our spirit days. Instead, we would like our students to use their creative minds to come up with an outfit.
Please read the rest of our newsletter to find out what is happening in our great community.
Take Care and we look forward to seeing everyone at Curriculum Night.
