Help Needed for Next Year!
This will be Brackett Bank's final year unless we find a vounteer to run it for next year
Did you know that over 100 students have enjoyed Brackett Bank this year? We need your help if it is going to be a tradition that continues!
The PTO is seeking a few parents to volunteer to keep the program at our school. Brackett School Savings Bank, currently in its 38th year, is a savings bank operated by 5th graders and parent volunteers and is sponsored by Cambridge Savings Bank.
Students can open a savings account with a $1 minimum and make deposits and withdrawals on banking days during the school year. First through fifth graders may participate in the bank.
Volunteering involves a total of less than two hours a week (this time can be split between multiple volunteers) — Brackett Bank is a great way to get involved at the school and help students learn banking basics!
Find out more information about Brackett Bank and volunteer responsibilities here.
Picture Day Co-Lead Wanted
Did you know that the PTO coordinates Brackett school picture day? We're looking for a co-lead to help with picture day and learn the ropes from the current lead. If you'd like to help out or get more information, please reach out to Katy.
PTO In Action
Read-a-thon
The Read-a-thon met it's goal of raising $20,000 and surpassed the reading goal with a grand total of 323,889 minutes. To celebrate this amazing achievement by Brackett's readers, Dr. Vice and Mr. Vanderlaine dressed up in inflatable shark and toucan costumes to greet students this week!
Teacher Lounge Restock
Thanks to your generous donations to the PTO and parent volunteer time to coordinate, we were able to restock the teacher's lounge with some snacks to fuel the teachers and staff for their busy days!
Science Fair and STEM Night
Thank you to all the student scientists who took part in the Science Fair and to all the volunteers who organized tables and helped with activities at STEM Night - both events were a huge success!
Year-End PTO Meeting
The final Community PTO Meeting of the year will be on May 22nd - please join us for a year-end wrap up and to discuss the next school year. Come share any ideas that you have for the PTO!

Children and Young Adult Book Sale at Robbins Library
Saturday, April 26, 9am – 1pm
Community Room, Robbins Library
Donations needed!
We will need lots of great donations to make a great Sale. Please bring donated items to the Robbins Library beginning Monday, April 7- look for the big blue bin near the Circulation Desk; we appreciate gently used books, cd's, puzzles, games, and DVD's. This is a great opportunity to clean off those bookshelves.
Support Arlington’s libraries by purchasing children’s and teen books, movies, and music at the Sale. There will be craft activities to keep children occupied as parents search for books. Come browse all the wonderful picture books, early readers, chapter books, books for teens, puzzles and games, and more! Lots of great books for inexpensive prices- children’s hardcovers for $1.00 and paperbacks for 50 cents. See you at the Sale!
