GRADUTION REHEARSAL:

- Required for all Seniors!
If you would rather listen to the narration of the video, click here. It's the same information as below.
The district has provided the following link to help provide graduation information that is consistent for all schools. This link includes information on the Ford Center bag policy, general rules, and will appear in several places in the remainder of this email.
Free live streaming of all graduations will be available for home watch parties. Click this link for information.
If you have a family member who requires an American Sign Language translator, please contact our campus secretary at greyl@friscoisd.org.
Seniors will receive 12 printed/paper tickets for graduation. Family and guests must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will be given to the students after graduation practice on Thursday, May 16th as long as they are cleared from any fines related to school issued equipment/materials. There will not be a system established by the campus for requesting extra tickets. You are welcome to share tickets among other families.
Graduates will need to ride with family or drive themselves to The Ford Center on graduation day. Students will enter through the Northeast entrance of the Ford Center. Parents will enter through the South entrance (Tostitos Plaza). Please click the following link to access the map for entry and parking information.
Graduates may start arriving to the Ford Center as early as 4:00 PM the afternoon of graduation. Graduates must be in the building and lined up by 4:45PM.
Graduates will need to arrive at the stadium dressed in their cap, gown, 2024 stole, and any other regalia earned. There are no changing rooms.
Dress code for graduation is simply to wear nice clothes under the graduation gown. See slides for more information. Pointy heels do not work well on the flooring in the Star, so flats and dress shoes are highly recommended (houseshoes, Crocs, flipflops will not be allowed). Comfortable but classy is the key!
Do NOT write, draw on or decorate your graduation cap! This is a FISD rule. Students will NOT be able to walk with a decorated cap.
There will not be anywhere to leave purses or accessories at The Ford Center, so graduates will need to leave all personal items with family, at home, or in the car.
Graduates are allowed to have their cell phones.
Students will be seated on the field during the ceremony. Students will NOT be graduating in alphabetical order. Field graphic Last week students chose if they wanted to sit on Side A or Side B. Later this week, students and parents will receive an email confirming the chosen side. This is subject to change (although not likely). Graduates will be allowed to carry their cell phones in order to text a parent if their side for seating changes or when they are about to be announced and walk the stage.
If your graduate is sitting on Side A then families will want to sit on Side B if you want pictures of your graduate’s face as they cross the stage. If your student is on Side B then families would want to be on Side A.
Parents, please remember when celebrating your graduate’s recognition or name being called that any extended celebration may prevent the parents of the next graduate from hearing the name of their graduate. Thank you in advance for being courteous and respectful to all graduates and their families.
Students will be receiving only their diploma cover during the graduation ceremony. Once the students have left the field, graduates will have an opportunity to sign for their diploma at the Ford Center. I will share the process with our graduates at one of the graduation rehearsal.
