Trojan Territory
Week of November 4
We are beginning our push into the second quarter and need to continue a strong drive to help our students be successful. The second quarter is filled with breaks so it is important that students are attending every class, engaging in academic activities, and holding themselves to high academic standards during this time. If students are struggling, please communicate that they have many supports available, such as Flex Lab after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until 5:15 and Academic Support on Wednesday mornings. Students should also communicate with their teachers about their specific needs.
As a general reminder, we do not have school on the following days:
- Monday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day
- Monday, November 25th-Friday, November 29th for Thanksgiving Break
- Friday, December 20th-Monday, January 6th for Winter Break
Thank you again for supporting THS!

Native American Heritage Month
November is Native American Heritage Month. It is an appropriate month for the celebration because it is traditionally a time when many American Indians hold fall harvest and world-renewal ceremonies, powwows, dances, and various feasts. The holiday recognizes hundreds of different tribes and approximately 250 languages, and celebrates the history, tradition, and values of American Indians. National American Indian Heritage Month serves as a reminder of the positive effect native peoples have had on the cultural development and growth of the U.S., as well as the struggles and challenges they have faced.

Transportation
If you are wondering if you are eligible for district transportation, please call directly: 720-972-4300
Chromebooks
If you went to an Adams 12 school last year, you should have your district-issued chromebook and charger. Those were NOT collected at the end of the school year. If you are a new student, stop by the library and we will check out a device and charger for you.
All students should now have a Chromebook.
If your Chromebook is not working or damaged please bring it (and the charger) to school and visit the library. Ms. Smith and Ms. Ewell in the library will help you out. If your Chromebook is lost or stolen, stop by the library and we'll talk about next steps and check out another device for you.
All students are charged a Chromebook Insurance fee of $20, $10 for reduced lunches and $0 for free lunches. Damaged Chromebooks have a $5.00 fine for the first damage, $50.00 fine for the second damage and for each additional damage the charge is $75.00. To replace a lost Chromebook the cost is $150. If your Chromebook is stolen, you MUST fill out a police report and submit that to the District to not be charged. Chromebook chargers are $35 to replace through the District. If you need a new charger and want to pay less, you can use THIS LINK. You do not have to use this link or buy through Amazon. The charger must be a 45-watt USB-C Type charger.
Bell Schedule
Click on the clock to see the bell schedule. As we head into winter, remember the 1-hour late start schedule.
Academic Support (Wednesday Mornings)
Academic Support is an opportunity for students to meet with teachers in order to make up work and receive additional assistance. All teachers are available to meet with students during Academic Support. Teachers will share meeting locations with students during the first week of class. Academic Support takes place on Wednesdays from 7:40 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Academic Support will begin on Wednesday, August 16th.
FREE/Reduce Lunch Program
Don't forget! You have to fill out an application every year.
Freshman will have 4th and 6th hour lunch. Upperclassmen will have 5th hour lunch. After a recent Colorado law was enacted, ALL students can receive free lunch. Still, it is IMPORTANT to submit an application for free or reduced benefits.
Help with School Fees: Apply for Free and Reduced Benefits
Free and reduced benefits help families and THS! Families are encouraged to apply for free and reduced benefits for this school year. By applying for free and reduced benefits, families receive assistance and it helps our school too. Here are a few ways the benefits can help:
- THS can receive additional funding to enhance the educational experience for all students. ($1,280 per approved student)
- School fees can be waived or reduced. These include athletic fees, course fees and activity and field trip fees tied to curriculum.
- Students can receive assistance with post-graduation planning, scholarships, state and national testing (including SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate), and post-secondary enrollment.
- Families can qualify for additional resources, such as medical, food and cash assistance.
- Families can receive support with community services, such as internet, gym memberships, passes to museums and cultural events.
Apply before October here!
